Urinary Tract Infection While Pregnant

Hi moms, So, I had a doctors appointment on Wednesday and had some protein in my urine so my OB said she was going to have it tested for a urinary tract infection (I haven't had any of the other symptoms except for wanting to go pee all the time). Anyway, I called the office twice today and the results hadn't come back yet so they said I'd have to wait until Monday for the results. So my question is if anyone knows of anything natural I can do until then to maybe help with the infection (if I have one). I think I heard that cranberry...

Children's Hospital or Children's Home

I have in perfect condition beanie baby bears and rather than selling them on ebay or putting them on free cycle, my kids had a great idea of giving them to sick children to make them happy or to children in a children's home that have no family. My question is does anyone know of the best place to take them? Like I said these are in excellent condition as I used to collect them, so it's not like I'd be taking them used stuffed animals. No kids have ever played with these. I appreciate your help in finding them a lovable home.

What to Do About This Orthodontist?

So my daughter has completed her “phase one” of orthodontic work to fix an overbite. During that course of treatment, starting around the age of 10, she had 6 teeth pulled. The first two by a dentist and the other 4 by a oral surgeon with laughing gas. After the first teeth pulling my daughter was beyond traumatized so that is why we spent the extra dough to have an oral surgeon do the next recommended teeth to extraction. Now 2 years later, we are in the limbo phase before the 2nd phase where the orthodontist wants to put braces on...

My 7 month old has turned diaper changing in to a challenging game. I am a first time Mom and have to say this is one topic I haven't read about and wasn't ready for. He flips over so fast and wants to crawl off the changing table. This sounds like something all parents probably go through as I'm sure they get bored on their backs. I'm just not sure what approach to take. The other night I made him stay on his back and he reacted so dramatic that it made me feel awful. I took my son to an eye doctor here in town because of a slight lazy eye he had developed. She did a full eye exam and told me that his eyes looked fine and he may end up needing glasses in the future because he's a little near-sighted like I am, but nothing that needs glasses yet. Regarding the lazy eye she gave us an eye patch and told us to strengthen the lazy eye by covering up his other eye and force him to use the lazy eye. She went ahead and got us an appointment at a pediatric eye doctor in a bigger town just to double check her. ...

How to Teach Potty Hygiene???

My daughter, 3 years old last September, is potty trained. Yay for us. This has, thankfully, been a non-issue for some time. But I have been helping her "wipe" when she goes "big potty," (poop) since forever, and have always taught her to "pat-pat-pat" when she goes pee. Her aim at the pat-pat-pat is painfully ineffective, but I supposed I remember when I was young, I didn't even remember wiping when I went pee as a little girl, lol!
