I was planning on baking my husband some of his favorite cupcakes to surprise him for Valentine's Day...until I remembered that he gave up sweets for Lent. So now I need a plan B. Any ideas, creative mommies? I will go pick up a bottle of champagne, but what else?

What can I do next?

My hubby is eating healthy and I got him middle eastern food. I included a note that said "Happy Valentines Day. I would falafal if I didn't get you something you like!"

A porterhouse steak (grilled), a loaded baked potato, and a beer.

Men don't tend to like champagne. That's a chick thing.

Got my hubby a new hat from his favorite sports team, some cute boxers, and a stuffed animal that sings a love song. Goofy, but he loved all of it. Why not buy yourself a sexy little something to wear.....a gift for him and you. ( :

I ordered my hubby a coupon book from Datevitation. I picked out 12 different "activities" we can do together. I included things like breakfast in bed, a hike and lunch, day of fishing together, and something "unmentionable" ;) etc. He is not much of a V-day guy, but he really liked the gift this morning. You could easily make one of these yourself at home on the computer, I only ordered one since I got a groupon deal.

...While he eats a bowl of ice cream. (Is that considered a "sweet"?) In fact, fix him a big bowl, and make him eat the whole thing before he is even allowed to touch you.

Can I just take a moment to publicly laugh out loud at Patricia G's note to her husband? Very funny! I am hearing the rimshot in my head at that one!

smoked salmon, cream cheese, capers, red onions and fancy crackers. Then make a delicious meal that he would love...steak and crab? Scallops, shrimp and halibut? You can still spoil him with yummy food!
