Love the midwives here. There's the Charleston Birth Place: http://charlestonbirthplace.com/default.aspx which is backed by the OB's at Lowcountry Women's Specialists: http://www.lcwomensspecialists.com/ (I've seen midwives at both places for Gyn stuff and liked them.)

Personally, I really like Dr. Angela Savatiel, she's now with MUSC Women's Health Northwoods. She's easy going and really nice. She was the last OB I saw for pregnancy.

I opted for a homebirth after touring the maternity/birth floor at the hospital. NOT the place for me.

I use Low Country Women's Specialists and they are great. My midwife is Tonya Bridges but I have only seen male obs there. My best friend does see one of the female obs named Dr Hunter. She loves her and she took care of her during all of her pregnancies. I'm not sure what her first name is but their number is ###-###-####. They're a great practice because they have locations in Summerville by Summerville Medical Center, North Charleston by Trident and in Moncks Corner.
