Seeking New OB Affiliated with Lankenau

I just moved here about two years ago and found a gyn/ob at Delco Mem, but I wasn't super impressed with anything about my yearly visit. I just found out I'm pregnant with my third child and want to seek out a new OB. A few friends (who didn't deliver there) said they heard good things about Lankenau - and also Bryn Mawr. We live in Lansdowne so the distance can't be too far b/c I have fairly quick labors. Can you recommend your OB, and tell me about your experience? Thank you!!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you so much for all of your suggestions! I now have a large spring-board for finding the right OB for me (as long as they accept my insurance). I look forward to choosing one soon, thanks to all of your input!

I would also recommend Dr. Laveran and Dr. Rudo. They are awesome!!! Dr. Laveran delivered my first child and it was the best experience in childbirthing. He is laid back and detailed. Dr. Rudo is cute and hyper (she can talk fast), but I only had experiences with her through my checkups. Lankaneau is a great hospital to deliver. So check out Main Line practice in Lawernce Park.

Dr. Bailey is amazing! I cannot say enough wonderful things about his bedside manner and his knowledge. My very first visit with him I was pregnant and I immediately felt like I was getting the best care and that I wasn't going to get better care anywhere else. I also heard a few great things about him from other patients where Dr. Bailey basically saved their lives. When I had my second child I was induced so Dr. Bailey was there (got the doctor on call with my first one). He made it the nicest most pleasant labor experience. You'll love him. I even had nice talks with him and I said to him it must be a great feeling bringing babies into the world all the time. He said "Oh, I love it".

I am also having #3 And I have to highly reccomend The Midwives of Delaware County. They office is in Barclay Square and they ROCK! They helped me deliver #2 and If I were having anymore babies I would keep going there. As far as Doctor stuff goes, they have doctors on staff but I have never seen them (luckily). They also take care of womens health. I will continue to have my annuals there. I delivered at DCMH and loved it.

I have to again say call the midwives, ###-###-####. You will not be sorry.

P.s. I had an epidural with my last baby and they do not try to make you do anything that you don't want to (like natural birth. lol)

Check out Chesney and Assoc. They have great docs and they cover both Lankaneau and Paoli hospitals. Dr. Merlino is w/ this practice and she is awesome - they have others who I've encountered and they all all great. I also like the office staff.

I can highly recommend Dr. Rudy Laveran & Dr. Rudo (a woman, forget her 1st name) at Lawrence Park OBGYN. Dr. Laveran literally saved my son's and my life. There's a special place in heaven for him!

Dr. Rudo is a cute little thing, she had to get up on a stool to deliver my 2nd son. They make a good team, Dr. Laveran is laid back, and Dr. Rudo is a little more cautious. The office staff are delightful and always happy to see me and my boys. They saw me 2x a week while I was PG w/ my 2nd son and they were always terrific!

Also, Lankenau and thier NICU were great. Like I said, they saved my tiny little 1lb 10oz baby. He's in 1st grade now. Good Luck to you!

Hi D.,

I would recommend Dr. Mark Finnegan and Dr. Margaret Peden, who are affiliated with Lankenau Hospital. I was a patient of Dr. Finnegan's and he's a sweetheart. He was supposed to deliver our oldest son, but I ended up delivering early, and he wasn't on duty that morning.

A friend who is a nurse at Lankenau highly recommended Dr. Peden when someone I know needed a referral to a OB/Gyn. I included a link to her practice, which Dr. Finnegan is a part of.

Good luck with the pregnancy and finding a new doc.

E.
