Our 10th wedding anniversary is in a couple weeks, Thursday the 25th and I wanted to do something different. We have 3 lil ones so we rarely get out alone but its a work nite and my husband cant take Friday off. Any suggestions on a nice dinner, theatre or idea somewhere close by? Were in the suburbs...

What can I do next?

Not sure what suburb! Can someone take the kids for a few hours that evening so you have time alone for the evening? Get some take out food, have your husband pick it up on the way home. Set the table with some nice candles and have a romantice dinner at home and pretend your away over night somewhere even if it is for a few hours.

If someone comes to babysit, there is a neat fondue restaurant in Arlington Heights and I think one in Schaumburg. There are also a few movie theaters opening in the are with love seats where they serve cocktails--pricey I'm sure, but for a 10 year anniversary could be cozy.

In Arlington Heights, their is the Metropolis theater. Don't know whats playing, but I've been to the theater for various plays. There is a good Italian and Spanish restaurant right downtown within walking distance.

Hi, good for you for taking a well-deserved break! Not sure where you live but my husband and I have done the dinner/theater and theater/Sunday Brunch packages at Pheasant Run and it has always been great! We have even bought show tickets and then dined at a wonderful little Thai restaurant just down the road from there (on North Avenue) I forget the name, I think it's like Lasana or something like that, it's in a strip mall on the south side of the road about a mile or so down from PHeasant run.

Take care and happy anniversary!

H.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY from one September Anniversary Couple to another!

Here's a GREAT idea for you and ANY happily married couple...
CELEBRATE YOUR MARRIAGE with a MARRIAGE ENCOUNTER WEEKEND! We did in 1980! It strenghened and supported our marriage and brought us through some pretty touch times over the years. We will soon celebrate our 37th! Not sure we would have made it through it all if we had not had Marriage Encounter in our lives. It is the best thing you and any couple can do for your marriage.

NOTE: This Weekend is meant for members of the Catholic faith, but others are welcome and other faiths do have weekends, as well.

Check out this website for more information: http://alifetimeoflove.org/

I could not recommend anything better for your anniversary and for your marriage!

Not sure where you live but there are a couple of nice places in Geneva just off rt.38 (Lincoln Ave.) One is Villa Verone and the other is Isabella's. Have a wonderful night.

Not much advice since my hubby and I rarely get to go out...not by choice though...just finances. Anyway, thought I would just share the very unique way my hubby and I celebrated our 10th this year. We spent the day in the hospital having our son. It was a very joyous day. And now we may actually remember our anniversary on our anniversary. :)
