Sahm's Wardrobe Advice?

Okay SAHM's, I admit my wardrobe consists of purely comfort:
shorts, tees, capris, flip flops, tennies.
How do some of you moms spice up your wardrobe w/o giving up comfort?
I need to be able to play and move around so they can't be a total departure from what I need to work in all day.
I have some quick go-to outfits for going out but again.....what are yours like?
TIA

What can I do next?

I live in sundresses in the summer, shorts just don't flatter me at all. I have no problem taking the kids to the park or doing whatever I need to in skirts or dresses.
In the fall, winter and spring, I like jeans or cords with simple tops, though not plain tees, and sweaters/cardigans as needed. These are things that are comfortable and easy to wash/wear, but look just a bit more put together than the yoga pants and tees/sweatshirts I would wear if no one was looking. I feel better when I have "real" clothes on.

Comfort is a necessity for me. Sundresses have replaced many of my shorts for summer. I wear them with nice looking but athletic-style sandals.

I live in sundresses! Although I never wore sundresses much in the past, my 5 year old daughter convinced me to try them (she refuses to wear jeans -lol).... she is right.... they are cute, comfy, perfect. (I can still wear my flip flops too... lol). I have also found some great skirts and tank tops too! Soooo much more comfortable than shorts and capris!

I'm half work-from-home, half stay-at-home mom. I make sure every day I take it up a notch from athletic wear. In the summer, it's capris with nice tees. In winter, khakis or jeans with a sweater. If you get cotton sweaters, they're easy to wash (esp. with kid mess on them). I also wear long-sleeved knit tees with knit jackets (not the athletic kind; nicer ones with buttons). I wear flats. Another must for me is a necklace. It's just a nice mood-booster and dresses up the look.

I just feel a whole lot better than if I'm dressed like I don't care. It doesn't take any more effort, either.

Honestly, my favorite thing to wear around the house is a comfortable dress, although I don't have too many. Something flattering, stretchy, soft...pure comfort. :)

I would also suggest sundresses or some sort or short sleeve sweater top (since it sounds like you're in a warm climate).

Personally, I like to dress comfortably, but nice. I typically have a skirt on with a layered top (tank with an (un) buttoned blouse over the top, or something similar. I also like to put on a necklace. I think that the flow of a skirt is feminine, and adds a touch of softness as I mother my children. I want my children to have fond memories of their mother around the house, pretty, with perfume, kindness from her mouth, femininity, and laughter/joy. I work to make this a reality for them. Also, I want my husband to come home to a wife who thrives in the home, who is taking dominion over her sphere of influence. I want him to come home to my femininity. Yes, occasionally I will wear a pair of jeans or capris. But,those are not the norm. I also never know who might knock on the door, or if we might have to run out for something. My attitude is that I reflect my husband's provision for his family. So, I strive to make sure we look well kept and loved, especially when others will see us. I think it reflects on my husband, and he is an incredibly loving, caring, providing man. I don't want my laziness to reflect poorly on him. I also like to make sure he looks well put together when he is out. I make sure his clothes are well-maintained and ironed. I love my life. ;) And, I love to read how many of the other posters seem to have similar thoughts in the way they dress.

I like to wear little jersey skirts (plain, black, stripes...), with ballet flats and a cute v-neck, usually a plain color. I love the v-neck pocket tees at Target, especially the heather gray. It doubles as comfy and cute. Just change into some jewelry and it looks good enough to go out in.

I hate shorts and capris (I'm very petite and they are very unflattering), so for me, its skirts or fashion jeans. Digging the skinny jeans right now.

I pretty much wear jeans every single day. I don't like capris because I am short and it makes me look shorter. I don't like pants, I feel dressed up in them, so I just wear plain old jeans. I am a T shirt girl too. I like to be comfortable. I think that for sahm's who don't have to dress fancy, can still look good with a good pair of jeans, nice shoes and a nice shirt. T shirts don't have to be plain either. They can have ruffles going down, the kind with the fabric flowers are cute. I like V necks also. So, just wear what you are comfortable in as long as it's not all raggy and has holes in it, then it should be fine

Gym shorts and t-shirts! Dress for your job, right? Of course I shower every morning and put on makeup and at least somewhat do my hair. When I'm going to go shopping, errands, etc. I put on jean capri's, a skirt, nicer shirt. If I had to go OUT out, I'd wear dark jeans, a fancy shirt or something.
