It totally is! Sorry all, but I am so confused. You think I would have this down after having two kiddos already.... Anyhow, here is my story: I finished my last pack of birth control pills on Friday August 17 (taken as usual, no mistakes or missed pills). I would usually get my period on Sunday or MOnday following my last pill on Friday. I was also scheduled to get the Paragaurd IUD put in on Tuesday (they require that you are on your period for this, so I scheduled it on Tuesday thinking I would definitly have my period by then). Well, tuesday rolls around and still no period. I call my OB/GYN and she said just to call when I get my period and they will get me in, good deal. So, here I am 11 days later with no period. I have taken 6 preganancy tests that have all turned out negative. THis has never happened while being on birth control pills (ten years before I had my first kiddo.) The question is, what can I do to confirm this? I am going on a trip this weekend where alcohol will be involved and would like to know for sure. Is there anything the OB/GYN can do to help? I will be calling them this morning, but wanted some advice in the meantime.

Added: I obviously will not partake in drinking if I still do not know for sure, but I just wanted to see if I could confirm beforehand. Also, I was usuing birth control pills to keep from becoming pregnant, so I was using protection. If i am pregnant, it is not the end of the world, just unexpected.

What can I do next?

Nope. After two kids, the menstral cycle goes haywire due to it's escape plan. Remember, your womb has already seen enough, so it's trying to scare you into not having another, so it delays the onset of your period to trick you into thinking you're pregnant.

It's a very tricky little womb. Keep your eyes open!

I would bet you're not pregnant, but just to be on the safe side, I would get the doctor to test your blood! In my opinion, their testing is much more accurate than just the urine tests you do at home.

Good luck!!

It can take several weeks to show up on a home test your OBS office can do a blood test or you can go to a Monor Med facility to get one done without your OBs consent thenforward the results to the office.Second you can avoid the alcohol if still inquestion you are pregnant

Periods can be off for lot's of reasons besides being pregnant.
I don't know how old you are but my period started to skip randomly in my 40's - it's just part of peri-menopause.
I wouldn't worry about it.
Enjoy your weekend!

Does your period get really light on the pill? Before I had my daughter, I was on the pill for 9 years and never had a period. Just shut it off completely. Then, I had her, went on the mini pill while I was nursing and still didn't have one. Went on the full blown birth control pill after I stopped nursing her and never had a period, got off the pill to try to have another baby, got my period back, decided we weren't ready to have a baby and went on the pill again and now I sporadically have a period. Sometimes I will and it'll be light, sometimes I won't at all. When I went off my pill to try to have a second baby, I didn't have a period and I thought I could be pregnant. My point is, with the pill, you just never know. I went to the doctor and had them do a urine test too, and it came back negative. I'd say give yourself a month of being off the pill to get your cycle back to normal and see what happens. If you're like me, it's just reacting to the hormones you've been feeding it. But use protection! :) Good luck!

It's a bit early to tell if you are pregnant but 6 negatives would make me lean towards "not" being pregnant. Maybe stress or anxiety could be causing a late period. You could be pregnant but early enough that your levels are not detectable yet...happened with my sister...she had a positive test and the initial sonogram did not show what they thought to see and levels were low so they started checking her constantly. She did end up being pregnant and after an early induction at about 38 weeks as per their calculations, he was born what I believe to be a bit earlier than 38 weeks based on some of the problems he had when he was born (meaning they had her due date wrong and that is why they didn't see what they expected early on and her levels were not what they had expected).

I would suggest that you just take care of yourself as if you are pregnant (just in case) but if you don't want to be pregnant you use protection just in case.
