Need New Tires

I have a 2003 Envoy and I really need new tires. Does anyone know of a good, cheap place to buy tires? Or anyone heard of any sales? A walk-in store or online store is fine. I'm just looking for a place to buy good tires without getting totally ripped off.

What can I do next?

Hello,

Have you tried going to the Discount Tire place? I have heard that they are pretty good from there.

Discount Tires is the best place around. They have very competitive prices with all the other Tire places and they repair minor flats, etc. for FREE. They are always very fair and even pro-rate tires with wear after a long time to apply against new ones....when all bought from them. We won't use anyone else but them. Hope this helps.

Hi E. -
4M Tires on Vallely Ridge and Mill St in Lewisville.
Owned by some brothers, Rej and James are usually there M-S(half day).
I started going to them in '98. They are honest and treat you right.
Not sure what the prices are but I do know you can trust these fellas. Check them out.
Good luck!

There is a place in Dallas called Hamm's tires. We just had to go and get new tires for our Jeep Liberty, and with mounting and front end alignment (which is free) it only cost us $380.00. They are really good and fast. The number is ###-###-####. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Well, I know a guy named Ernest who I buy used/new tires from...The place is a real hole in the wall...but the guy is super nice, honest and does a really good job..There have been sometimes I couldn't afford new tires..and he would give me tires at $25 a pop balanced that looked brand new..Anyway, his # is ###-###-#### or ###-###-####. He is in Carrolton...Also, Sam's Club is a great place to buy tires if you have a membership...If not, the $35 member fee sometimes covers what you save.

When it comes to buying tires, there are so many choices, it pays to get the phone book out and start calling if you ask me. I've bought a set of tires for my husband's truck at Kauffman tires and was very pleased. I've bought many tires from Discount Tire and I've purchased tires in the past from NTB as well. If money is your main criteria, shopping around for the best price might be your best bet. I will say one thing about Discount Tire that I only learned recently...I purchased 2 tires for the same vehicle there on two different occasions. When I needed to replace the last two original tires, and I called the location nearest me to see if they had them and how much they would cost, the price was more than the price that I had found on their website search feature for another location a little further away. I said to the guy "Well, I guess it would be better for me just go to the other store", and he replied that he could waive the disposal fee, match the price of the tires I purchased previously (which were cheaper even though they were the exact same tires) and make a few adjustments. I ended up getting the tires cheaper than what I would have paid at the other store, and that included $10 extra for having them transferred to the store nearest me. My point is if you find tires you like at one place and it's cheaper than the next place you call, let them know about it and they may try to beat the price. There's obviously some leeway in their pricing that they don't normally like to reveal. I would also try to speak to the manager or asst. manager. I'm guessing they are the only ones authorized to change the prices. Good luck!

Usually Wal-mart has good prices on tires, all depends on the milage of the tires. I brought some there for $200.00. You might want to try Discount tires also. If not there, those places where you get a tire fix, have good tires.

We've bought a lot of tires from Discount Tire. They offer interest-free financing for 90 days if you use their credit card. However, we've recently been using Walmart and they offer all the same services on tires that they sell (balancing, rotation, flat fix). The prices are at least the same if not better than at Discount Tire, plus the added convenience of getting your tires done while you shop for groceries, and you can get other services done at the same time (oil change, etc). I have friends that use Sam's because they are less expensive, but we didn't want to drive all the way to Lewisville.
