Greetings Fellow Mamas,

I'm a newbie on mamapedia, but thought I would post a question regarding finding a parenting class, or parenting support group, in the Los Angeles area? I'm a first time mama (going on almost two years now) who is still trying to adjust to my role as a mommy. I've been feeling extremely overwhelmed in the past few months, and feel as though I am the only one going through one of the hardest jobs I've ever had; being a mom! and thought that perhaps finding a support group would be of great help to me.

If there is anyone out there in the mamapediasphere who is reading this, and has any suggestions on any parenting groups, or if there is any mommy out there who can relate to what I'm going through, please e-mail me.

Thank you for taking time out of your busy day to read my S.O.S :)

What can I do next?

Hi! My name is M. P. and I am a Certified Parent Coach and Positive Discipline Parent Educator & Family Consultant on LA's Westside. I am also the mother of two teenage girls, and I so remember what it felt like to be a new mama and not have the support I needed.

I am currently running a parenting class and that will end on May 26th with a new one beginning in June. I would love to chat with you about what you are going through and see if my parenting classes might suit your needs. I also have some resources about other parenting groups if I can find out what part of LA you live in. Don't hesitate to check out my website www.acoach4parents.com and give me a call.

Wishing you more joy in parenting,
M.

I can relate! It is the hardest job and the changes to your life are in so many ways unexpected. The group that saved my life is Mothers & More http://www.mothersandmore.org because it was a group for ME and about me as a woman and my experience of motherhood, not a parenting class. There are several chapters in the LA area depending on where you are and also online email discussion groups.

Hi E.,

As a parent educator, I talk to mother's all the time with the same issues. You are not at all alone. The feeling of being overwhelmed and stressed is a very common one.
In response to so many moms saying the same thing, I have put together a Sanity Strategy program, to give you the tools to master your schedule, nurture yourself (without compromising your family) and regain control in 30 days.

My goal was to make this program something that was easily accessible to anyone in the midst of the all-too-common mom-stress.

Here's the link for more information.
