Hi I was just wondering if anyone out there attends a good bible based church that is more than just a "feel-good", get you in, get you out kind of church. We live in Surprise. We are trying to find a place that our children, ages 6, 4 & 2 will love to go to and get something out of, other than being babysat by paid non-believers or play video games the whole time they are there. My son can do that at home. We also are looking for great worship. We have visited many churches..........Does this kind of church exist?!?!

What can I do next?

I understand your frustration. I moved here from Texas (Bible Belt)looking for the same thing. I wanted my children to have the same bible background that I'd had grwoing up. I too have tried many churches and have decided that Community Church of Joy at 75th ave & 101 works for us. My daughter is 8 and is in "Sunday School" and she actually is learning about Jesus and the bible in her class. Not just playing and jumping. My husband also loves the church.. Too battles in one... I suggest that you go to the church's website or call and ask what their beliefs are to see if they match what you are looking for...

YES - it does! I don't know where you are located, but I am in El Mirage, and it's a 5-10 minute drive to the elementary school in Surprise where our church, The Life, meets. Countryside Elementary is located off of Greenway and Parkview Pl. We just started a second service yesterday, as a matter of fact, and they're now at 9:30 and 11 am. There are caring servants of God engaging our little ones in foundational biblical teaching, and we are all regular attenders or members of The Life, volunteer status only. (You might find me in the nursery or toddlers' class. I love it!) There is a craft, snack time and play time. And the older ones have an opportunity for giving to the Lord and memorizing Bible verses.

For the adults, there is sound, Bible-based teaching from our phenomenal pastor, Jonathan, and a terrific selection of contemporary worship music from his brother, Mark. We are serious about reaching out to our community and beyond, preserving the unity among believers everywhere and keeping our focus on Christ. The people are warm and caring and they'll go to great lengths to minister to you, whether it's your first time or you've been going for months. Life groups, which meet in a home on a certain day each week, just started up again for spring semester, and you can join at any time.

I would be happy to provide you more information if you're interested. I wish you God's grace and guidance in your search for a home church.

Blessings ~
R.

Hi, We just found our church home at Vineyard Church North Phoenix. They are located at 63rd ave and Peoria. They challenge you and want you to grow in Christ. My oldest (9&1/2) loves it there. They do have games but they are only allowed to play between services. They have 5 services on the weekends and the website is www.vineyardnorthphoenix.com Good luck and God Bless,

Not sure where you are located....but our family recently moved from a "feel good" church to a CHALLENGING one, Parkway Christian Church in Surprise(North of Cactus on Bullard). Attendance is about 1400 but over 5 service times with 3 different Worship styles as well, Edge(Rock style)(Sat. 4pm), UnPlugged(Acoustic)(Sat. 5:30, Sun. 9:30 & 11am) & Traditions(Sun. 8am). Saturday is actually a quaint coffee house feel. Not crowded at all.

Pastor Trent is always saying his goal is that 'we all become fully dovoted followers of Christ.' Yes, it is Bible-based and the sermons will get you thinking!

There will be the Associate Pastor speaking this coming up weekend, he is good too. Come check it out if your in the area....In the meantime visit the website and listen to the messages online.

You didn't mention the age of your son, but we have Volunteers from our church, NOT paid non-Christians. Our children's ministry has made some major changes recently and I feel is definately worth the time to check out!

Another a great site for messages is oOne Place. Both links are below.

Hope this helps. Please feel free to e-mail me anytime ____@____.com Blessings to you!

Hello LS -

I'm not sure where you live, but I live in Avondale, and we found a wonderful church. It's a non-denominational Christian church called The Well. It's in the early growing stages so it's not big, and is held at Rancho Santa Fe Elementary School (2150 Rancho Santa Fe Blvd., Avondale 85323). The pastor is really down to earth and humorous in his sermons, and it's all bible based. They have children services/worship at 9 a.m., then they break off into their age appropriate class for bible lessons. The adult service starts at 10:00 a.m. The people are very friendly, they offer small groups for the adults, and they have occasional get togethers outside of church. If you want to check it out you can go to their website at www.drawwter.com.

I hope this helps you. Have a wonderful week.
