How long have you been on here?

Bare with me here, I've had a lot of time on my hands this afternoon (screw you housework!!)...

I posted my first question on here, when it was still mamasource... on October 16, 2006.

That's almost 5 years, LOL!! It's kind of funny seeing how I started out and what I've become... as a mother, a fiance, a person in general. I've definately grown in a good way since then :)

So how long have you been a member on here? Do you feel like your parenting style or lifestyle has changed? When you look back on some of your questions or answers, do you feel like you handled a situation or responded the same as you would now?

What can I do next?

I was afraid you were going to say today.....In my defense I'm printing some photo pages and my printer has decided it needs to be hand fed. I need something to keep me entertained ;-). Tomorrow I'll need to think of a new excuse.

I've been on for atleast 3 years.

It's funny that you ask this, I was thinking of asking a smilar question. I posted my first question in January of 2010. In that time, I've become a full-fledged addict!

I think that I have learned to be more tolerant of all walks of life. There have been mamas who were quick to put me in my place when I made a snap judgment or knee-jerk response to a post, and that definitely made me grow as a person.

I think my posts have evolved a bit based on some of the experiences shared by other Moms. I definitely get a lot of insight into different parenting styles and it is very interesting.

One example- I used to think that people who turned to holistic medicine were waaaaay 'out there' but now I actually have been considering incorporating it in some areas!

There have been some negative experiences too... I've been attacked unnecessarily, I've even been bullied (I actually have a current inbox stalker), which doesn't give me a lot of faith in humanity (lol) but I take it with a grain of salt because anonymity makes small-minded people very brave.

Thanks for this post R.! Fun!

I just discovered it july 10. I was desperate to find a pediatric dentist I could trust with my baby because she needed exstensive work done. I joined and asked and someone suggested the most wonderful dentist ever! I've been hooked ever since! I don't have a computer and would log on thru my phone and before I got my smart phone I could ask questions but not answer them. Now that I can, im on here all the time!

Posted my first questions in 2008 - didn't get any answers (boohoo) because it was area specific and no-one lives in my area. Bwaahaaahaaaa.

I think as addictions go, MP is a good one to have. It has filled my time today between sending emails and obtaining reference letters.

I've been here since July 2006, when my oldest was just a newborn, and yes, I still call this place Mamasource. Back then, we even had a meet-up at Chuck e Cheese and met each other... in person!

I don't know how long I've been here. I was here when it was mamasource. But for how long before that I'm not sure. I don't know how to find out, either, lol.

I don't think my parenting has changed (except that I probably spend more of my time online HERE than before I found this group, lol). I think I am probably a little better at looking at more angles on something before I come to an opinion about someone else's behavior now. I mean, when you read the stories/questions on here... I really stop and think about what might not be included in the telling of the story, because we are pretty limited in what we are told sometimes. So I try harder now, to give the benefit of the doubt to the people I encounter in the REAL world (lol) just like I would on here. Everybody has a story and something going on with them. Maybe my kids' teacher had a lot of baggage at home last night and was snippy b/c of something TOTALLY not related to me or my child. Or the other mom I bumped into at the store--- maybe she wasn't being unfriendly, but had ____ going on and didn't want to go into details, just wanted to get her errands done and get on with ______.
That sort of thing. Not that I have that much drama in my life, I really don't. :)

I have been on here since my first was a just a couple months old, so over 5 years!

My lifestyle has definitely changed. Have 2 kids now and, sadly, am divorced. Lost my job and relocated almost 500 miles away.

My parenting style has also changed. With my first I was so by the book and by the time the 2nd one came along I had learned to loosen up quite a bit!

I don't post or respond a whole lot (mostly a lurker) but I think I have changed quite a bit in the past 5 years so would have to say that no, my answers and reactions would not be the same as then, except of course the general kids questions, milestones, minor illness, etc type questions.

I became a member around January or February this year after finding the site by accident. It wasn't long before I became an addict. I don't think anything has really changed yet, or that I'd answer anything differently.

My lifestyle will change a lot in August since I'm moving up to the mountains and will be living near the Biltmore and the lake. I can't wait to get the sleds up there so they can be used by the kids. I'm also looking forward to decorating my new home. Just not looking forward to the drive between here and there (4 or 5 hours of Disney CDs in a car nicknamed Teapot) when I come to visit.

I tried going back thru mine to find out for sure... but only have questions starting in 2010. I am pretty sure I started in 2006 right after my son was born in 05.

I love it tho and have had great advice. Thanks everyone!
