Hi Mamas! We are ttc & I am due to start tomorrow. I jumped the gun & took a test today & it was negative. I am bummed and wasn't sure if there was anything I could do to help me tc. I know when I ovulate and we try during that time. My first pregnancies were a breeze & I got pregnant with ease. This time, I am older, 33, and its taking longer. I am pretty healthy and eat right (or try to!). Any suggestions?

What can I do next?

I know you are having sex when you ovulate, but when I first talked to my ob/gyn about wanting to get pregnant she told me this: Have sex every other day, then skip 2 days, then every other day - So Mon, Wed, Sat etc etc, until you get pregnant. All month, not just the week you ovulate. Actually her first statement was " Lot of sex, make daddy happy!" She was an older korean woman and I loved her! But, I was pregnant 3 times in 4 years, so I think she was on to something!

we TTC every other day while I was ovluating...so JUST to be sure I made him make 'his deposit' on day 8,10,12,14,16,18, and 20..After each deposit, I layed in bed on my back with my butt raised in the air and stayed there for abotu 5 mins letting gravity work. HA HA I am sure i looked like a fool.
however what do I really know...it took 4 months for us TC
Good luck..baby dust. I do think that 'worrying' about it on your end doesnt help..you may not ovulated every month.. your body will go through the motions but you may only be fertile every 3 or 4 months. track your cycle..if you are due to start tomorrow, then I would TTC on 04/02, 04 06 08 10 12 14
Im sure Daddy wont disapprove of this post :)

I agree with Suzanne, relax and enjoy! I was able to get pregnant with my first with "one shot" but with my second it took almost 6 weeks of trying before I could get pregnant. I was 32 at the time but not only was my body changing but my stress level was different and of course my life was a bit different than with my first. Enjoy, don't stress and it will happen before you know it. Good luck!

Don't assume that your age is going to make things take longer. I had two kids when I was 21 and 23, and two more when I was 37 and 39, and there was no detectable difference in my fertility after 14 years! Don't stress, and don't try to force it into a schedule. Clear the decks as much as possible for romance, and have fun with it.

There are different definitions of eating right. Try the blog 'naturally knocked up' and she will tell you about her ttc and eating higher fat, bone broth, etc - all things that traditional societies did when their members were trying to conceive- before, during and after. Traditional societies depended on their people being able to conceive to survive, so they took it very seriously.
