Good Refrigerator Lock?

We have a side-by-side refrigerator and need a good door lock. We have tried the double loop style cabinet locks and the stick on kind. The loop style ones we have tried are hard to operate and the stick on ones have to be attached on the top and my MIL can't reach it. Anyone find a style they like that is easy for adults to operate?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you all for the opinions. I have tried a couple of the suggestion. Some of the locks did not fit, some just did not work with the side-by-side. Rught now we have a towel tied around the handles. I am planning on stopping this weekend to look at the bike locks. I'll let you all know if that works.

Thanks Again!

I second the bike lock suggestion. We use one on our fridge and it works great. Use the kind that is a cable lock with a simple combination. Good luck.

I've never locked our refrigerator but I did a search and this is what I came up with that may work.

We use an older version of this in our bathroom and find that they are easy to operate. Maybe it'll work in our case?

We use this for our drawers and maybe it'll work for your fridge. It's also fairly easy to operate.

I have no idea whether this would work on a side-by-side, but we have friends who, on their traditional refrigerator, simply removed the handles. Their kids could not grasp the refrigerator from the side with enough force to open it, but it was simple enough for the parents to work it without the additional level of the handle.

Use a bike lock or something along those lines. It would probably work better the nthose plastic locks. One of those on my cabinet broke by having the door pulled on.

I never thought of bike lock idea when I needed something, but that does seem like it would work.
What I did was take an old thin dish towel, long enough to go thru both handles, and tie together. Works great for cupboards too if you have those type of handles.
