I'm a SAHD dad to three girls and someone recommended this site to me.

Are there Dad's here?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

glad to see there are dads on here too. Thanks Jim - I'll keep the TMI on file!

Someone recommended it to me because I have three girls and a wife. It might help me "learn" about women. I want to raise my daughters right.

Welcome P.! I like some of the dads on here more than some of the moms.
What are we going to do when one of the men starts his question with "TMI " ?

Some (a very few) women here like to think it's an all girls club but I think anyone who wants to talk about parenting issues should feel free to discuss them here.

Hi P. and Jim,
I'm one of the dads. I enjoy the banter and some of the questions. Some of the questions I have and Idea on, but don't answer because of the nature of the question.

I do answer the questions I have some expertise in. AND I have learned A LOT about human nature that I never would have guessed even existed. I enjoy the opportunity to do good and help others that's why I'm here.

Good luck to you and yours.

P., you are absolutely welcome here! I saw in another post that you just want to raise your daughters rights. Your attitude is refreshing! I am a big fan of Jim at Home Dad and Dad on Purpose. You will fit right in!
There are a few dads that are on here to "balance out the estrogen" and have the attitude that they need to teach the ladies a thing or two(which I need to clarify is not attractive), but you seem to get it that we all (moms and dads) are learning together.

SAHD's are awesome!

Yes, P., we have dads here. We welcome you here. The only thing that some of us feel is that we would appreciate only ladies talking about our body parts and sex. It is embarrassing for some of us to have men comment about issues regarding breasts and vaginas. We have only had one man do that - the other dads keep mum on those threads. We ladies would rather pretend that men aren't reading that...

Welcome to the site!

Like one other poster mentioned, might want to tune out when the question starts w/TMI......grilie stuff you may not want to read.

Also, if we may have something negative to say about our male counterparts once in awhile, we are not male bashing.......we have a reason we are venting about them! :)

Hey P.....yeah SAHD (you are not a stay-at-home-mom-dad...just a stay at home dad!) are welcome. As are working dads. BUT....be aware. There are some JFF (just for fun) questions on here that may deal with sex or our periods, mucous plugs, and breastfeeding that may make you a bit uncomfortable! Welcome

Indeed! I agree that we're not always nice=) I also think you'll be thanking the heavens every day your wife is not one of us, since you'll get to see what goes on in our crazy heads. lol. Luckily we can ussually straighten eachother out and give eachothr a new persepecive before we go ape and let our significant others see what we really are thinking.
I like the male perspective even on the TMI comments, afterall it did take ingredients from a guy to become mom. I';m sure you guys have seen it all through living with girls so even if its a "girly" question about vaginas I'm sure you have great imput too

Hi P.
Welcome to Mamapedia. Also Thank you so much for doing what you are doing for your family. Thank you for caring enough about your babies to come to a momma website for advice.
WE ALL LOVE JIM from Katy. He posts some great though provoking questions and his opinion is much appreciated. He does make me sick sometimes that his marriage is so happy!! JUST KIDDING!
I have been a member for a number of years but really just became a daily contributer this year. You will see some of the same names over and over on here and get to know us. Most of us are pretty nice, but you know what they say about too much estrogen, someone is gonna get bitc6y!! hehe.
Welcome, Good luck and GOD BLESS!

Nice to meet you. Welcome.

The only advice I will pass on is that the written word comes across differently than the spoken word. If you post a question be prepared to have it taken wrong and people saying things pretty bluntly sometimes.

I have had that happen a couple of times and my entire question was taken wrong. It helps to just gloss over the ones that are not what you were looking for and to take to heart that we are all "women" who can be influenced by our day, how our kids are acting, how life is going in the home, hormones, etc...we don't always mean to come off as cranky old biddies(I am 52 11/12 yrs old) but we do mean well. Even those of us who are opinionated.

Again, welcome.

Welcome P.!

I welcome ALL points of view...and think that the 'dads' we have here contribute a lot...and often express a point of view from a bit of a different perspective.

I have often wished the site were called 'parent pedia'...I think it would open the door for MORE dads...

Welcome again!
Best Luck!

Hey P. in my opinion yes, but I would first seek advice from your mom, grandma or sisters before on this sight, not that this site isn't a good site, it's just that your mom and grandmother already have raiseded kids (like myself) we know what works and what doesn't. I life my hands to you for being a stay at home dad. J.
