Every year I have trouble on Fathers Day. My hubby has everything, just curious to know what others do for their hubby's.

Pack a picnic lunch and go somewhere cool.

Bring his favorite foods and beverages.

Bring toys for the family to play with (balls, frisbees, etc.)

For Fathers Day (and Mother's Day) we skip the brunches and lunches and do something as a family: a bike ride, a walk, Twins or Saints game, etc Also, if he needs time alone on that day, my gift would be to take the kids somewhere so he can have alone time (he hasn't requested that yet) but it would be out "gift" to him. Have fun!

My hubby never wants me to spend any money, so how do I get him somethng??

I think I may make the "retro father's day clip art labels" and put them on his favorite hot sauce and pretzel bags (see link below). There are a lot of other cute craft ideas on this website - duh it's martha stewart.

But also, I am making a little photo book out of brown paper sacks and pictures of my son and husband glued inside. I hope he'll set it on his desk at work. Nice little conversation piece when clients come in to the office. I made one for all the grandparents/great-grandparents too. This website had pictures of what I was supposed to do (pretty simple). You have to scroll down towards bottom of page http://www.scrapbook-crazy.com/paper-bag-album-instructio...

Good luck. Have fun. If all else fails, give him a meal and some lovin.

I too have a husband who is hard to buy for. We have narrowed it down to a couple of traditions that last longer than the usual Father's Day gifts. We have Daddy pick his Father's Day menu for dinner and we purchase a gift card to his favorite discount book store. He spends time with his family and we are creating memories for the day that will last years. I hope this helps. Have a great weekend!

We have made "memory stepping stones" - you can buy kits at any craft store - save the mold and you can buy the mix cheaper next time! Kids put hand prints or foot prints and then push glass stones into it before it sets. There are all kinds of different kits too.

We have also bought Crayola's air dry clay and made things for Dad and Grandpas or bought white t-shirts and fabric paint and covered the shirt with the kids hand or foot prints while I right some cute quote (messy, but fun!) or you can buy iron-on-t-shirt-transfers that you can print on your computer and put a cute picture on a t-shirt...

Well, hubby and I aren't huge gift givers to each O., since we don't usually *need* anything. The most we usually do for each O. is get a card. We'd rather do something together like snuggle on the couch and veg out on a movie, go camping, go for a walk, go out to supper--things like that. This year, my husband's Father's Day present is to get the dirt work done in prep for a garage slab! (A working holiday, but on something we've both wanted--especially him--for 5 years)

Write him an honest and sincere compliment - have your kids do the same. Don't leave it to halmark - write it in your own words. This can be tough but so meaningful to the reader.

I had a cute Why Our Father's the Greatest photo collage (with words from the kids) done last year by this site. It was terrific! She emails you the design, so perhaps there's still time?

It's not always what you buy him, it's what you do for him or home made gifts. How old are the kids? Can they make something for him. Can they give him coupons to help with stuff. Such as lawn work or cleaning the garage with him? How about making him a special t-shirt with paints, tie dies, or fabric markers?

have your child make him a desk pen holder by wrapping/gluing pretty colored yarn around a juice can.

Take the child to a pottery art place and have her make him a ceramic mug.

Glue shells to the outside of a picture frame.

Have the kids hide clues around the house so he has to look for his present.

Video tape the kids doing a song for him or a play.

Pray for him in the morning when you get up, outloud, while you thank the Lord for him.

Write a poem.

Make a homemade CD collection of favorite music.

Order him the "Alien" or "Lord of the Rings" full movie blue ray gift set off amazon.com.

You and the kids wash and detail his car.

Pack a lunch and take him somewhere where he can fish.

Hand a big paper banner on the garage door "Best Dad in the World"

Cut out a heart or cross out of a cereal box, (punch a hole in top)cover it with glue, and then peices of egg shell. Paint the eggshell with watercolor paint in mosaic or stain glass looking color. Hang this from a beaded string. He can hang this on his rear view mirror (make sure it will fit over it).

What man doesn't love a homebaked pie? If you absolutely cant bake- purchase a claim jumper apple or berry pie- the closest thing to home made. Get vanilla ice cream too.

He gets a loving card from me, and another one that the boys write in. They are really good at writing in cards, and will probably say some really wonderful stuff to him about what a great father he is, and why.

He also gets taken out to eat and gets to pick the activity -- he wants to see Shrek 4, for some reason. :o)

I might get him a small present, as well.
