I got my mom a cute organizer tote bag from ThirtyOne. I had her name embroidered on in, and told her it was for her to fill with whatever hobby she likes. She sews, chrochetes. reads, gardens... all kinds of stuff. So this worked great for her because she can pack up her things into the bag and take them with her when she hits the road with dad for a little trip. She loved it.

What does she like to do with her time? If she is interested in something buy her the equipment for it or a subscription. If she is a gym rat a membership or if she wants to learn another language the tapes or computer program for it or classes.

Does she have a hobby? or maybe she once did but hasn't had time? Ask her family what she liked to do even before kids. Maybe she used to paint or fish or read???

I think it should be something like a hobby. Like something she can take up to occupy her time since she will be at home more. I really think my mom would just love a plack saying "You made it though Ben and Tom (her bosses) for 30 years!"
