Was This a Visit?

My fiance's grandmother passed away on Monday. She was 92 1/2 years old. I've never met her, and she never got to meet her great grandbaby.

Well last night I had a dream about our wedding. I was freaking out because I couldn't find my veil (which is weird because I'm wearing a pretty headpiece, not a veil), but the room I was getting ready in was filled with women helping me out and there were 2 faces in the crowd that I recognized but didn't know for sure... I woke up around 2am from the dream with a smile realizing that Cathy (my fiance's deceased sister) and his grandmother were there. It was a wonderful dream; a gift. Grandmother was wearing a pale yellow sweater over a white shirt with a flower pinned to the front, I remember how her hair looked but can't describe it, and she was wearing glasses and she was smiling. She was the one who found my 'veil'. Cathy was wearing a pretty pink sweater over a flowery sundress and her hair against the pink sweater was so shiny and pretty!!... I won't tell my fiance about this because my dreams sometimes freak him out (he swears I'm sensitive to the paranormal). I felt really warm and comforted by the dream.

Being awake, I got up to make sure the kids were covered up. When I got the the babys room, his door was already open (it's ALWAYS closed at night) and my heart skipped a beat. I went in and he was fine... but there was definately a lingering smell of some flowery perfume fragrance.

I know I was not dreaming. I also know that most 'visits' happen in a place that the person has been to/lived; somewhere they're already familiar with. His grandmother has not even been out of the state of Louisiana for years, let alone to the house we've currently lived in for 2 years.

I closed the babys door, and went to sleep. When I woke up at 7:21, the door was open again. I called my fiance and he said no, he had not opened the door. I asked the girls if they had been in there, and they said no, but their door was open this morning as well. I know I had closed both doors last night.

I'm really not scared, I feel calm and comforted by the dream, but I still wonder... do you think this was my fiance's grandmother, finally coming to meet her great grandson and step-great granddaughters?

What can I do next?

Yes, I think that is exactly what it was, and now she will hopefully be able to move on now that she knows you are all safe and happy. My grandmother passed away 3 weeks before my son was born, and she visited us shortly after his birth as well. It really is a wonderful feeling isn't it!

Blessed Be

Yep, I do.

I have had unexplainable experiences similar to yours, and I'm not a "believer" per se... I am kind of on the fence with all of it, if you will... but I do think that you may have been visited.

Yes and how sweet of them to let you know they are watching over all of you. Call on them when you want extra care for your family. They will continue to be there for all of you.

FYI, Write this visit and dream down and date it for future references.

My father died in the evening after my kids were asleep. I didn't wake them to tell them about it, I thought I'd wait till morning when I was more in control of my emotions. My 3 year old woke up before me and came to my bed. She told me that paw paw was in her room last night and came to tell her goodbye.
I totally believe my dad came to say goodbye to us that night. So yes, I think your fiancée's grandmother could visit, too.

All persons have spirit energy, living or not. His grandmother and sister were attracted to you and your children's spirit energy. They can go anywhere. I believe this was a visit from both of them. I think your dream meant they will always be there for you and the kids. If you ever need their help from the other side they will be there for you.

I SWEAR to GOD my grandparents visited me all the time when my son was first born. The lights dimmed everytime I was breastfeeding in his room and he would stop nursing and smile. He would look behind me like someone was standing over my shoulder.

It's been awhile since I've felt them but I know damn well they are all here watching over me. :)

Of course! IPeople will think I'm nuts but I won't be otherwise convinced about what I saw a few months after my stepafther passed away. Back story: My mom & stapfather watched our son from the time I returned to work after my FMLA leave until sf got ill with cancer when my son was about 2-1/2. Pap was THE MAN. My son was super, super close with him. He was the "fun" guy while my mom was basically demoted to diaper changer, meal preparer, etc. LOL After my SF passed, it was a few months later. I had a video camera over my son's cribs for nighttime & naptime. O. day he was napping and I glanced at the montor and here was a small white orb kind of slowly circling around his crib. This happened 2 or 3 times (different days) I will never be convinced that it was NOT my SF's spirit just kind of checking up and checking in with his little buddy.
I have also had those warm comforting dreams after the deaths of my SF, and both grandmothers. None were as close to the death date as your experience though. They looked well, healthy and happy and I was surprised to see them, but I was hugging and hugging them and I knew they were "ok".

I always embrace the dreams I have of my dead sister and grandmothers, I wish they came more often. I dont believe in the paranormal, so your open door thing is not something I can relate to.
Good dreams try to embrace. Nightmares try to forget. Doors opening in the night... I'd put jingle bells on them so I could catch the ghost in action :)

I think it is totally possible. My daughter had just turned three when my grandmother passed away. They were VERY close despite the 90 year age difference!! It was Christmas Eve, 2 months after her passing, I went to check on my daughter who was asleep in bed. She was in bed, eyes wide open, having a complete conversation with my grandmother. Of course I stood and watched in awe, listening to 1/2 a conversation feeling totally at peace. The next morning I asked my daughter if she had any dreams and she simply said " No, but I talked to Granny last night". Visits are totally possible!

Totally possible, My grandfather died when I was fourteen but I always had the feeling he was around when I had my boys I had dreams about him in the days before they were born and when we brought them home a few days later I would wake up with the song my grandpa used to sing to me when I was little in my head. Like I had just heard it. Pretty sure he was there singing it to them.

I believe it is possible. About a month after my daughter passed away (leaving an 18 month old baby), I felt her presence one day as I was changing his diaper. It was a "sense" that someone was there, but no one was home except the baby and me. I didn't dare turn around to see, because I feared she would leave. I just completed the change, and then when I turned to leave the room, she was gone. I have no doubt it was she, and she just wanted to make sure he was OK, and also let me know that she was OK. It has never happened since then (2003). I spoke with my pastor about it, and he agrees it is possible.

I can say that I am 100% sure that I think is possible, but I also can't say 100% that I think is not.
But if it was it was very nice way to tell you there are happy for you.
I have told my husband that if he die first and he can find a way to communicate with me that I will love to, I also have told him how I would like (if it is possible) just so I don't get a heart attack (I told him that standing next to my bed in the dark is possible not a good idea)
I once saw this video, it was a very sweet video that is about your dream, it is in Spanish so if you have somebody that can translate for you let me know if you want it.

I think it's possible! Years ago when we first left NY and moved to CO my hubby and I were living in a one bedroom apt and he worked nights. I had gone to bed and had this crazy dream about my grandma (she passed away about a year before that and we were very close) and I was actually jolted from my sleep by what felt like a 'presence' moving through my body. At first I was freaked out...and we burned some sage grass and went back to bed...and when i got up that morning I was just so sad...mostly because I thought I hurt my grandma's feelings by being frightened by her visit. She's come to me in dreams many times since then and I always feel so close to her and love those moments...cherish your dream. As for the open doors...well that would freak me out just a tad. Maybe you need a little sage grass too... :-)

Yep - visit!! HOW COOL IS THAT?!!!

Write it down. This is a GOOD, not make that GREAT memory!! While it was a dream - it brought someone to you....

I have dreams about/with my Grandmother in them. I've had smells pass by me when I'm in the house alone and no doors or windows open of one of my GFs that died in '05...I will hear her giggle sometimes too.

Say a prayer of thanks for the visit!!
