Do You Believe Dreams Can Bring Messages from Above?

I had a miscarriage two weeks ago. It has been on my mind a lot, so I'm not surprised I dreamt about it...

In my dream, my husband and I were at a place that looked like either a hospital lobby or a convention center. There were all of these easels set up with large, yellow poster boards. Each one had pathology information on it. We went up to the one that had our name on it. I clearly remember seeing the words: Cause: Unkown and Gender: Baby Boy.

My OB told me at the post op follow-up appointment that the pathogy report showed the cause was unknown.

As for the gender, it was way too early to tell. I had felt that it was a girl, but my husband was sure it was a boy.

I wonder if this dream gave me my answer.

Do you believe messages can be revealed in dreams?

What can I do next?

When it comes to dreams, what anyone else believes is not as important as what you believe.

Dreams are just your brain's way of clearing itself out, or of sorting through information that is too much to deal with while you're awake.
they aren't messages from a deity,or from the dead.

I once dreamed that I was in an x-rated episode of "I Love Lucy" and the entire cast was wearing kabuki makeup. Find a message in that.

I am one of those boring people who think dreams are nothing more than your subconscious working through things.

Thing is though in that thought process it would seem your subconscious wants to believe it was a boy, nothing wrong with that.

I guess what I am saying is regardless of the process there is nothing wrong with going with what is reveled by dreams. :)

I am so sorry for your loss. I definitely believe dreams can tell you unanswered questions etc. Dreams are what your subconcious is still working out or trying to work out--- If you feel right about it and in your gut you feel like he was a boy--you are probably right. Hang in there--

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss.
I went through this as well with no real answers. It was called "fetal demise".

I think, naturally, we want to know answers as to "why" and it's hard to accept that we may never get the answers. However, I am a very prolific and vivid dreamer. For me, it's like going to the movies every night. I dream a lot about loved ones I've lost and I truly believe it's their way of visiting me.
I have woken from dreams with a feeling of "aha....there is the answer".

Now, I'll tell you a true story. I had a vivid dream when I was 6 years old. The dream, itself, scared me. However, after being hit by a car actually happened and I regained consciousness laying in the front seat of the car that had hit me (it was pouring rain as we waited for the ambulance), I told myself that I would be okay because I'd already been there before. I was in and out of consciousness for several days, but every time I opened my eyes, I'd already seen it before and I wasn't afraid.

I didn't understand anything about premonitions, but I honestly believe that having had that dream kept me from completely freaking out.

I can't explain how dreams work in our lives, but I do believe that messages can be revealed to us.

I fortunately have a lot of funny dreams and even wake myself up laughing.

I hope your dream brought you some comfort, if that's at all possible.

Also, I haven't read the book, but recently heard about it..."Heaven is for Real". I'm interested in reading it.

Very best wishes to you.
Take care.

I am dreamer...I dream about many different things. I don't remember most of what I dream. I do believe that dreams can "tell" you things about your life.

If you want to believe that this dream was telling you that your child was a boy...then believe it.

I think dreams are my subconscious giving me insight to myself. I have had dreams that I felt "the other side" was telling me something. I personally believed those dreams. It's all about what you want to take from the dreams.

You and only you can say whether or not you believe it's a message.

Yes I do. And I am sorry that you lost your baby. When my father died, I was so upset of course. And I just kept wanting to know if he was OK. One night I had a dream. I was sitting on the front porch, and my dad drove up in a mustang convertible, and stopped in front of the house. He yelled and smiled at me "Hi J., I just wanted you to know that I'm OK, and that I love you!" and then he sped off. That made me feel better.

My aunt had been sick for a long time and the doctors kept telling us that she wasn't going to make it, but she still wanted to fight and we still kept our hopes up for a miracle. I never visited her in the hospital. I knew that she felt embarrassed by the way she looked (Which, due to her illness was VERY different from her normal appearance), and I'm the type that prefers to remember people by how they look normally and not how they looked while they were dying in the hospital. Anyways, I always have pretty crazy dreams so I don't usually pay attention to them. But very early one morning I had a dream that I walked out of my bedroom and into my kitchen and my aunt was sitting there at my table. I asked what she was doing, as she was supposed to be in the hospital. She told me that she just came to say goodbye and she gave me a hug. I woke up to a phone call from my mom saying that my aunt had passed away that morning. I would like to think that that dream was truly my aunt saying goodbye.

My SIL had a similar experience with her grandfather. She wasn't very close to him. One night she had a very short dream, just a flash through her mind while she was sleeping. It was her grandfather holding a piece of paper that said '14'. The next night, same dream except the paper said '13'. This continued every night until the paper said '1'. She ignored the dreams, thinking that they were really just dreams. Well the night after her last dream her grandfather passed away. She believes that those dreams were warnings for her to say goodbye to her grandfather while she had the chance, and she feels very guilty that she didn't.

I don't believe that all dreams mean something, but I certainly believe that dreams can mean something!

In your case, I would believe that your dream was telling you that you were going to have a boy.

i'm sorry for your lost. I had a miscarriage between my first and second daughter. I always had the thought rather it was a boy or girl. I was 8 weeks along and had some "light spotting." I went to the ER and the women there wanted to do a vaginal ultrasound. She told me she was going to fill my bladder so she could get a better reading. Anyway the way she move it around hurt. Afterwards she told me it was "way to earlier" to make it out. When i left i had bright red bleeding. I knew i miscarried. Blood test confirmed that i did have a miscarriage. Not to long ago my husband was in the store and my 5 year old daughter came out and said "i have 2 sisters!" My 6 year old said "no you don't," you have one sister and thats me and a brother."(3 years old).My 5 year old said no i have two sisters and one drowned when she was little or a baby. I kinda blew it off but then i started thinking it made sense with the miscarriage and the bladder they had to fill(water) and how after i miscarried. I still think maybe it was the Lord or someone telling me it was a girl. Makes you wonder. It wasn't a dream but happened in real life.Just wanted to share that! :)

My grandma had visions and knew stuff. Before she died she kept asking someone who died on the 13th. Nobody in our family died on the 13th. What happened? My grandma died on August the 13th. Crazy if you ask me. I know its not a dream.lol.

I'm not sure, however, I think that things are what we make of them. If it gives you comfort and closure, that's fine.

I am sorry for your loss, Sweet Chaos. I hope that you are able to mourn and heal in time. My personal experience of this sort of loss is that each find our own way to grieve, and we find our own comforts. What comforted me so much after my last miscarriage would seem whack-job nuts to some, but it really hugged my soul and gave me hope, which sustained me--and a prophecy which came true. But it's still a bizarre tale. To each, our own, I suppose!:)

I do believe that God often communicates with us through dreams; He did so many times with Joseph in the Old Testament, and Joseph, the husband of Mary, in the New Testament, as well as many other times. My MIL claims to receive many messages through her dreams, and I can't say that they've ever steered her wrong.

I am sorry for your loss.

After my dad passed in th 1992, I grieved for a very long time, years. I never dreamed about my dad. Then about 4-5 years later I met my fiance and it was at that time that I had a very vivid dream about my dad. He came to me in a dream and told me everything was going to be O.K now and that it was time to say goodbye. My dad was clear as day in the dream. To this day, I have never again had another dream about my dad being so clear and real. The next morning I woke up with a new feeling of peace (I can't explain). Although, I still miss my dad and always will, the dream seemed to move me past my grieving period. I believe that my dad came to me in that dream and helped me heal.

When my dad passed, he colapsed and had a massive heart attack in a public building. I was home with my mom that day, My Mom who does not believe in anything spiritual or unexplainable - said to me "I just had a thought in my head that 2 police officers came to the door, one woman and one man and they told me that something happened to daddy." About a half hour later - that is exactly what happened. Two police officers, one woman and one man came to the door with the news that my father had colapsed at the store. - My mom had a premonition, my dad must have sent her the message to help ease the shock.

So yes, I believe that you can receive messages in a dream.

I am so sorry for your loss. It is horrible to lose a child and from your posts it is obvious that this was a wanted and much loved baby. To answer your question, yes. When I was in college - 20 years ago now, I had a dream that my grandmother's sister (great-aunt) who died before I was born told me that I would never marry my then steady boyfriend. One week later he dumped me - on the Valentine's Day that I expected him to propose. The dream had been very vivid and my aunt looked just like her photos. I told her she was wrong - couldn't be but she told me that she knew more than I did.

Fast forward about 15 years - my grandfather passed away. While we were not close for most of my life, he became a widower right before I got married. He became super involved in my wedding, and my family. My new husband and I helped him clean out his house, dispose of my grandmother's items, move to a retirement village near our house and spent lots of nice evenings with him for nearly 2 years. He died when my baby was 7 months old. I was pretty upset but I had frequent dreams that we were meeting for lunch (something we did a lot on my maternity leave) and he would ask lots of questions. I never got to direct the conversation...well, my grandfather passed 6 years ago and on the anniversary of his death this year I had another dream. This time he came to visit me at our new house (we are currently looking to buy our new house) and told me that he would know where to find me. I was comforted. His daughter had a "visit" the same night. Yes, it was grandpa and yes, I do believe that he is telling me the dreams won't end when I move.

Your dream was sent by your angel son. He loves you and wants you to be comforted. He is fine and you will meet again in heaven. Read the book that Shane mentioned. Another interesting take on heaven is discussed in Stephanie Nielson's book "Heaven is Here" - she is a blogger at http://nieniedialogues.blogspot.com/
