Someone recently told me about a program in which single parents are able to meet each other and, if compatible, become roommates. I'm not sure of any of the details but I’m curious if any other single parents have heard about this or have tried the program. Please let me know as this would be an ideal situation.

It's http://www.co-abode.com. I saw it on a news piece when I lived out in LA and looked into it then. It is not a free service and a few years ago, it was only available in certain areas (LA being one of them). It was started by two women who had the idea after one had a large house after a divorce but needed help with not only bills but day to day things as well (shuttling kids etc...). It has been pretty successful and it looks like a good idea. I've since married so I haven't really looked too far into it so I can't say if it is or isn't available in Maryland now.
