My family is moving to Round Rock this week and I am looking for speech and occupational therapists that accept medicaid for my 5 yr old son with autism. He is currently recieving services here in Dallas, but we need to continue services in Round Rock as soon as possible to avoid regression :)

Any recommendations would be extremely helpful!!
Thanks Moms!!

The Seton hospital system used to accept Medicaid patients. They may still.

S.,

Unfortunately I am not sure I can give you any medical advice, but I can offer my friendship and any help you might need in the area. I was raised in Ausitn (minus a 10 year stint in the Navy) and I now live in Round Rock. Both of my boys (ages 14 years and 20 months) have their pediatrician at the Austin Regional Clinic on Hester's Crossing over in the La Frontera area. Maybe they can help you find resources. Their number is ###-###-####.
My number is ###-###-####, but I work nights so I may not answer during the day. I work Sat-Wed 9pm-5:30am. I am usually up in the afternoon, early evening and during most of the day on Thursday and Friday.

Good luck with the move!
S.

Hi Stephanie-
Little Tesoros (www.littletesoros.com) accepts Medicaid, as do all the Seton Outpatient Peds Clinics. Also try the Scott and White hospital in north RR. Little Tesoros is located in north Austin, but they also have home health OTs and SLPs.
Also, here is a link to a group who meets in Austin once a month to talk about issues involving autism. There are many interesting resources available here as well:http://autism.meetup.com/229/
Welcome to central Texas!

Try Reavis Rehab (512-310-POOl). The people there are great and become part of your "family".

If that doesn't work I believe Round Rock Rehab (next to the Round Rock Hospital) probably accepts Medicaid.

T. offers Speech Therapy & Physical Therapy with Sensory Integration Techniques. SLP's and PT's co-treat to incorporate the whole body. Each system impacts the other.
