Hi, J.,
I am not aware of Mom's clubs as my daughters are older, but have some friends with young children whom I will ask. I am interested in knowing where your husband will be teaching math as I am a Science teacher at Porter-Gaud and we are looking for middle and high school math teachers! BTW, Charleston is a delightful city. Do you already have a realtor?

I am also a fairly new mom (Ben is 5 months old). I am not sure if you are nursing or not but if you are there is a great support group that meets at Trident Hospital every Wed from 1-3 with lunch provided. I met some great moms there. The lactation consultants are Pam and Jodi. It is also very social in addition to being a support group. The support group may be a starting place to meet new moms.

check out Seacoastchurch.org and see if they have a campus near where you live. Seacoast is a really wonderful church and you can make some good parenting connections there. Good luck and Welcome to the Lowcountry.

Hi, J.! My name is M. and I teach Stroller Strides classes and run the Luna Moms Club. Check out our website www.strollerstrides.net/charleston. We have classes (fitness program for moms with their babies) in Mt. Pleasant, downtown Charleston and on Daniel Island. All our moms club activities are free and open to all moms with kids of all ages! You are always welcome to come and take a free trial class to see if you like it. It is a great way to get back into shape after having a baby as well as to meet other moms in town to help each other through this grand adventure of motherhood!

Best wishes!
M.

Yes, there are mom's clubs in Charleston, I was about to join one before I went back to work. Find a free copy of Lowcountry Parents magazine (I think that is the title, any preschool or public school should have copies, if you can't find it at a grocery), and there is a wealth of information. You could also Google "Mom's club Charleston, SC" and see what all pops up. Welcome to the area!

Hi J.-

We live in West Ashley with our 2 year old son. Have you considered a nanny or are you looking for a daycare? When is your baby due? Congratulations!
