Can anyone recommend a good (adult) endocrinologist in the metro area? I have been seeing one at the U of M who is really uninformed about thyroid issues, pregnancy, and breastfeeding (and dismissive of my concerns), and would like to start with a new doc before we have any more kids. TIA!

I have been seeing an endrocrinology at the Minneapolis Endocrinology Clinic which is adjacent to Fairview Southdale. The person that I have really enjoyed most is a Nurse Practicioner named Lisa Feese. I have also seen Dr. Ladkte and found him to be helpful. I am hypothyroid and have had a baby (and nursed) since beginning treatment for that.

I had a thyroidectomy when I was a teen and then had problems when I was trying to get pregnant. My OB/GYN recommended Dr. Gonzales, and I have to say he has been one of my favorite doctors. I have been seeing him for almost 5 years now. Very gentle, knowledgeable and caring. HIGHLY recommended!
I see Dr. Wayne Leebaw at the Southdale Medical building. He is wonderful.

I've seen him for years, and in my second pregnancy - although my midwife has been checking my hormone levels and sending them to him this time, makes for less Dr.'s visits. His office has been great about getting back to me promptly to let me know that all is ok.

There is a Dr. Ladke, I believe is the spelling. and I think he is from MN endocrinologists. I am nurse and I have ran into a lot of pt's who really really like him. I don't have all of his info but I work tomorrow so I will get the correct spelling of his name and phone number for you so you can check him out. Don't be afraid to "interview" the docs!

I see Dr. Rebecca Mattison at The Endocrinology Clinic of Minneapolis. She is located at the professional building by Fairview Southdale hospital in Edina. She is really good, has a great understanding and will answer any questions you may have. I actually started seeing her right after having my thyroid removed and then finding out I was pregnant so as you can imagine she had a lot of work to do to get me up to speed with meds and has been doing an awesome job of keeping up with the pregnancy.
