Seeking Family Physician for Mother and Baby near S Mpls

I live in South Minneapolis and am looking for a family physician who can provide care for my baby (due around November 4) and me. My midwife will provide care for both of us until the baby is 6 weeks old. My doctor just switched clinics to begin specializing in geriatric medicine, which is why I am also seeking a new doctor.

Any recommendations for a family physician and/or clinic near South Minneapolis? It would be great to find someone who is open to alternative vaccination schedules and prescribes antibiotics only when needed.

Thank you in advance!

Fairview Uptown clinic near Lake Calhoun is wonderful. I've been going there since before I was pregnant, and now my "babies" are 9 and 12.

There is one doctor to avoid there, however, so contact me privately if you're going to go to FV Uptown, and I'll let you know the name.

S.,
We go to Southdale Peds in Edina, We try to see Lori Skallerud, she is open-minded and is a parent herself. Really like her. Dave Miller is another one in that office to see.
Congrates and best wishes.

I use to live in S. Mpls and my kids go to Metropolitan Pediatric Specialists which is on France Ave next to Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina. We have been very happy there and we started our kids there from the time they were born. Also we spread out my second child's vaccination shots and they were willing to help me with that. I have a doctor I see most of the time, but when we have had to see someone else we have been happy with everyone our kids have seen. You can set up a meeting with the clinic before your baby is born and see if it is a place and a doctor you are comfortable with.

Good luck and congratulations

I highly recommend Dr. Lisa Spatz at Fairview Hiawatha Clinic on 38th Street & 42nd Avenue if you are looking for someone who can care for both you and baby.

But I decided to have my daughter seen at Fairview Children's Clinic (near the U of M) because they are open until 7 or 8pm each night and they have really excellent Dr's. Dr. Dailey is awesome and so is Dr. Borman.
