Pretty Bras for Well Endowed Women...

I am still on the quest for a bra that doesn't look like a granny owns it. It seems most bras in my size come in white or nude and are just plain ugly. I want one that is pretty, supportive, comfy, and not crazy expensive.

So, what brand do you buy, and/or where do you buy your over the shoulder boulder holders?!

On another note, I am so envious of ladies that can wear a tank or cami in the summer without a bra... I'd knock myself out if I attempted that, and it just wouldn't be a very attractive sight!!

So What Happened?

Oh, and yes I have tried Victoria's Secret, but I found their bras to be lacking in quality & overpriced.

I also recommend Cacique from Lane Bryant. They have sales multiple times throughout the year. The last sale I bought it was buy two, get two free. Also, they have a great no wire bras that are so comfortable and very supportive. I hate underwire!

I get my bras from a fine lingerie shop that does fittings here in Portland. They are an independent store and also do medical prosthesis fittings, trousseau fittings, etc. as well and carry a wide range of sizes. I love the place. They have quite a few styles that were very pretty and not so granny-like. I favor the simple Wacoal underwire because I'm pretty busty and they have enough coverage so that I'm not putting on a show when I'm bending over working outside or with the kids.

I don't know how big you need, but I am an E cup. Yes, I am about to recommend a nursing bra and you may not need a nursing bra. But seriously, the Bravado Allure http://www.bravadodesigns.com/shop/the-allure-underwire-n... is the most comfortable and nice looking bra I have had in so many years! It is very likely I will continue to wear them even when I'm not nursing anymore.
You can find them on sale so they aren't quite as expensive.

I like the Cacique from Lane Bryant and the ones at Catherine's, JC Penny, and Fashion Bug will sometimes be lacy and pretty. I have a few that drive my hubby wild, but I just find them randomly. I don't know how big you are, but Victoria's Secret doesn't usually have a cup size big enough for me. (G or H).

My daughter gets her bras at Lane Bryant. They're pretty and offer good support at a reasonable price for the well endowed.

I've noticed in other posts that women suggest Victoria's Secret. When I was a 32 C, their bras did not fit. They didn't have styles in 32. So when I was a 34 D I looked again. No D cups either. I've found most of their bras lacking in support too. They have a single or double closure in the back. With a larger cup one needs a wider back piece.

I don't know your size but I'm now a 40 or 42 DD and I can sometimes find good bra's at Ross and Marshall's. I've also bought bras on sale at Fred Meyer a combination food and department store.

Wacoal brand is expensive but if you have the money their bras fit very well. You can find them in department stores.

I feel the same way about wearing tanks. I can't even wear them with a bra. They just make me look like I'm all boobs.

K., have you checked to see if Spanx makes a bra big enough for you? It's not lacy, but it is great at supporting your breasts.

Don't be envious of women who can go braless! Be proud of your "girls"! A lot of those small-breasted gals want boob jobs!

I second Wacoal brand. You can get them at Lord & Taylor along with a professional fitting during their "professional fitting" days AND L&T still offers great discount coupons. You may be able to get them at a steep discount. I have very pretty black lacy bras that are comfortable and secure. BTW, the bras that fit me range from 34G to 36DDD so def. get a pro fitting.

The answer to this question is going to depend on what size you actually wear. If you are a plus size, which is to say a band size of 38 or higher with a cup of D or above, then Lane Bryant might be a good place to look.

If, however, you are like me, a "regular" band size (under 38) but a larger cup, then I would look on figleaves.com or breakoutbras.com. My favorite brands are Freya, Fantasie and Panache, they are all made in the UK and have slightly different sizing, but they make bras that are supportive, cute, sexy and in cups up to K (or even higher). Breakout bras also has a great section on bra sizing that helped me a lot. I was able to figure out my correct size at home and the difference was amazing.

Twice a year, I buy from Lane Bryant when they have their semi-annual sale. They usually have buy two get two free so I don't mind dropping $50-$100 and getting 8 bras. They are pretty, they have lots of styles and I know I can buy them online because they are pretty true to size. They last me forever, especially if I get underwire and wash them on delicate and hang them to dry.

I work at Macy's and they have several brands that seem to be very nice.
Wacoal is one of the brands they carry and do seem expensive but alot of women swear by them. There are also alot of cheaper brands there.... As well as the wonderful clearance racks. I have seen some bras in those racks go for as low as 5-10 dollars.

I get tired of straps digging into the shoulders and sometimes it's hard to find an under wire that doesn't pinch.
These days, I don't care how a bra looks as long as it supports and is comfortable.

Lane bryant is the only place Ive found that goes big enough for me. Victorias secret bras are terrible, they only go up to a DDD and they dont hold up.in the wash. Fredricks are great but they only go up.to an F. Thats what I wore until I had my dd and could no longer fit them. Now Lane Bryant is the only place I can find them big enough.

I was going to suggest Lane Bryant as well. Watch for a sale or sign up for a credit card or see if they have a mailing list and you'll get coupons, $25 off $75. I have two right now I won't use if there is somewhere I can mail them or if you're close and want to pick them up I'd be glad to pass them on. I live in Gilbert and work at Dobson and Warner in Chandler.

UPDATE: I just looked at my coupon and the semi-annual bra sale is at Lane Bryant is going on now...June 14 - July8. It's buy 2 get 2 free.
