So I have gotten the implants and now I want the piercings. Has anyone had their nipples pierced? Did it hurt? How long did it take to heal? Do you regret it? Any advice you can give me?

Thanks L.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

OMG!!!!! So I did it and it hurt like hell. I brought my boyfriend with me who now says he will never get his nipples pierced because he seen how much it hurt and how horrendous it looked when they shoved the needle in. You know when you get a paper cut and it takes your breath away and your throat burns a little because it hurt so bad? Imagine that but ten times worse. I DO NOT regret it. It looks amazing and I love it. I did really well with the first nipple but the second nipple hurt worse and I teared up a bit and had the pouted face but all in all it hurt like hell. If anyone tells you it doesn't they are lying!!!!

I have several friends with them, but they all ended up removing them within a few months, or a few years. Just grew out of it, and got tired of dealing with them. They do get infected easily, especially on women. I had a few piercings myself, but removed them after a few years too. They are extremely painful to get pierced.

I am deathly afraid of piercings (but I'm covered in tattoos, go figure).

My HUSBAND had ONE nipple pierced... he's also covered in tattoos, and wouldn't get the other one done it hurt so bad. He also hates that he has NO sensation in the nipple that had been pierced.

I wouldn't do it, not if you like your nipples for pleasure ;)

They hurt like holy hell.....And can get infected pretty easily.

Everyone I know that have had them done....Have removed them.

None of my friends have had the implants though....So they maybe hot.....Or mess up a perfectly good set of knockers:)

Make sure you take care of them the way they tell you....Clean them and keep them dry....Let them get some air everyday as well.

I have my face pierced in several places and would not change that for the world....So I can appreciate wanting to get the girls done.....JUST BE CAREFUL!!

Bring something to scream into when you get them done!!

A friend of a friend had them done in college and took them out. She was unable to breast feed from one side due to the damage the piercing caused. Not sure if that happens that often.

The first time I saw a girl "in real life" with nipple piercings was at the Zephyrfest (like Lollapalooza but better in my opinion) in 1994. I loved it, thought they were very very sexy, and wanted to get pierced so bad. At age 24, I finally had both done (12 years ago). It kinda hurt, but not nearly as bad as I was expecting, to get them pierced. I went to a shop that had the best reputation in town, and it was fast, simple, remarkably comfortable (I wasn't embarassed or freaking out). However, although I was extremely pleased with my left nipple, my right nipple hurt a lot (A LOT) during the healing process. My left nipple---it heightened the sensation, to this day, I'm very sensitive there and love it. My right nipple---it took some time to get anything but pain back. After 2-3 months, I could enjoy my right nipple. Big, big warning which should be common sense, but my mistake: before it heals, DO LAUNDRY and DO NOT run out of "regular" bras so that you're forced to wear a "date bra". The ball on my ring got stuck in the lace of a "date bra" before it was all the way healed, and I swear I was singing opera like a cartoon character. Not happy.
All in all, I was happy with my piercings, but 6 years later (in 2006) I had to take them out, once I was about 5 or 6 months pregnant. Interesting that the breast milk came out like a sprinkler system out of all 6 areas instead of just normal....I hadn't really thought about milk coming out my piercing holes. After breastfeeding, you have little hands grabbing, so it's taken a few years (2 children) to be able to think about that again. But I'm over it by now. Been there, done that. I asked Jeremy if he cared, and he didn't. He liked them (novelty) when they were in, but he likes me fine without them, and said he wouldn't recommend it again since it wouldn't be so novel again. (And there's a waiting period of over a month for me to heal that I don't think either of us are interested in).
One thing though: a girl I worked with back in the day had what they call a "blow out"? Messed up her nipple pretty bad. Yipes! I don't know all the details to that, but it doesn't "work" now.

L., I had it done many years ago. I ended up having to take them out to get a mamogram and never put them back. It hurt initially just like any other peircing. But if you already had implants there can be no comparison to that pain!
It was fun while it lasted but then I had to grow up again!! It took a good three years to fully heal and close up. I would get a small irritating flare up about every 3 months until they finally closed up for good.
Please don't be "that" girl that gets her boobs and gets piercings and SHOWS EVERYBODY!! Those type of piercings are private! To be enjoyed by you and your partner, not the whole world!!
Good luck!!

oh ps. I never lost any sensations! Made it better.

All I have is a horror story to contribute. My girlfriend got them as she thought they'd be more appealing to the men. The first time she whipped them out with a guy, he told her they were "trashy and degrading". She didn't care and moved onto guy #2 who LOVED them and thought they were way sexy until one night he got a little too rough and accidentally tore one half way out. The doctor had to stitch her nipple and she lost all feeling because of that little incident. She then removed the other since then. Whatever you decide, I'm sure you'll be happy;)

I have not had my nipples pierced but my best friend did. She had both done at the same time. She has a high tolerance for pain and said it hurt like the dickens.

It took about two weeks to heal - I think that's what she said. And about 6 months later one got VERY infected and had to be removed.

She still has one and enjoys the stimulus from it. However, there are other considerations - if you don't want the world to know you have your nipple(s) pierced you HAVE to HAVE a GREAT padded bra. If not - it will show through - especially if you wear "cleavage" dresses and shirts.

I don't think she regrets it. It was her mid-life crisis thing as well as a tattoo.

I have no advice for you, as I've not had this done. I did want to say 1 thing though:

Jane---Clearly, this wasn't the post for you to be even opening, let alone answering. Good God, Almighty, the woman didn't say she was going to break into your house, hold you hostage & do this to you, so what's your issue?

I had them done - lasted about 4 years, then I removed them. It hurt, but not as bad as I expected. The healing took forever - definitely longer than the 6 weeks I was expecting. I hated that they would show through almost any bra, and even though I liked the stimulation, it was more pain than fun. Now I am much happier without them.

I don't have mine done, but my mom got hers done about 8 years ago.

She said that it was painful and it hurt with her bra touching them. I don't know how long it took to heal but I know it took awhile. 8 years later she still has them in and still loves them. She has never had an infection or anything with hers.

If this is something you want to do for yourself and don't mind the pain then I say go for it! Even though its something that nobody else see's outside of the bedroom its nice to know that you still have it there and its for you ( and maybe some for your husband ;) )

~ Jane I have to disagree with you on this one. I have my ears pierced 4x on each ear, I have a piercing ( not nipple, but else where nobody see's except my husband) and 3 tattoo's. Not everyone thinks the pain is pleasurable, but sometimes the pain is worth it. While I have " self mutilation" I far from hate myself! Actually in some weird way that I dont' expect anyone to understand they actually make me feel pretty. Just because someone does this type of thing doesn't mean they have low self esteem in any way, usually they have a pretty good self esteem and this is something some of us do for our self and nobody else... so maybe we are just selfish or love ourselves too much ;)

I had mine done, one of them twice in fact! After a break up, my bff and I went and got it done. She removed hers within a week. I kept mine for a year then took it out.....then got it pierced again although I can't remember why. Anyway, when I got the one pierced for the 2nd time, I told them to do the other while they were at it. I LOVED having them and even had the midwife tell me I could nurse with them...which I thought was questionable so I took them out....right after giving birth.
I never had any significant infection. I also used a spray that was salt water essentially and I had the most luck with healing when using that over dial soap which is often recommended.
I miss them but at this point, I am afraid that having the one done, now a 3rd time could really not be good. It was super sensitive, in a good way, but the novelty is gone for me and I am ok with that. Good luck and enjoy!

I don't have mine done but my boyfriend does. And he says it hurt like all to be dang. But he didn't have much nip to grab on to. I was there when he got his done about a year ago. He absolutely loves them and really wants me to do mine. But nah, I don't need it. It is like every other piercing, yes it hurts but it goes away and if you keep it clean all will be good. But thank goodness you wear a bra, so it should not get caught on everything. His biggest ouch is the seat belt. ;-p

I had mine done many years ago, it hurt but not horribly-toungue hurt the most out of all mine-had my belly button twice too. I loved them all and am sad they are gone-I took them out when I had a surgery done and they all closed except the nipple ones. I took those out when I got married because my hubby didnt like them, I loved them and dont regret any of them. Its a personal choice and do what you want :0) It took a few weeks to heal, I had one done at a time so I would just lean stuff against me on one side :0)
