We have several large sliding windows (69"w x 57h, 69"w x 33"h)that I'd like to look into getting replaced. Does anyone have a company that they've used that they'd recommend? I hear all the local ads - Feldco, Empire, etc. Any feedback? Thanks!

What can I do next?

We replaced all of our window with Gilkey Windows and love them. They are guaranteed (we had a seal break and they replaced the window right away no problems)- it's a great piece of mind.

Marvin windows are the best! Various stores carry them. If you go to Marvin's website, they'll point you to stores that carry them.

Hi, my husband works with windows for like 6 years now. In first years he worked for a few companies/Feltco,Sears,Champion,../. He has many friends in this brand and knows what is he doing.
Today he would tell you, if you want peace of mind/life time guarantee, even for next person who gets your house/, which really means hight quality windows, call The Home Depot. My husband has been working for them for years now. And to make sure you will get the best from installers groups, just ask for it. Call and say, I wont the best inst. group, the best installer.
PS:Most likely you would get my husband/as installer/ :), but he works mostly in WI area now. He could come measure the windows too, he is better then some who do it for living, because, he knows what will need to be done during installation. God bless you! M.

We used Champion Windows...out of Elmhurst I believe. They gave us a price and that was it. Even though they ran into am unforseen problem (something with our house, not them) the cost remained the same...even when the work took an extra day.
We were very happy with them and will use them again when the time comes for us to replace our windows at our new house. Great warrenty in addition to the well made windows. They cut out part of our front wall to put in a large bow window and replaced all windows in our house. We never had a problem with them. We also used them for siding about a year later.

I work for Airoom and we replace windows. There is no fee or obligation for them to come out and give you an estimate and we offer a 10 year warranty. The number is ###-###-####. Tell them that L. referred you if you do call.
