Hi Mom's: I need your help in finding a pediatric dentist in the Bay Area preferably Fremont area but I do not mind driving to San Jose if you can suggest a good dentist there. My son is 18 month old and we have not been to the dentist yet. I personally do not like to go to the dentist myself due to bad experiences during my childhood. Therefore I am committed to find a good pediatric dentist for my son, to ensure that he will have a more pleasent experience. Thanks so much for your help.

Dr. Randy Q. Ligh is an awesome dentist. The office is very clean and friendly. Got t.v's on ceiling, closed glass door rooms for those kids who like to scream, always decorated with some theme going on. Started there with my 13 yr. old when he was about 3 and stayed with Dr. Ligh since and now my other two are seeing him. He is located at 189 N. Bascom Ave. #200. San Jose, 95128. ###-###-####.

Hi C.,

I have an awesome pediatric dentist here in San Jose. He is off of Capitol Ave, close to Berryessa.

We have been seeing him for the past 4 years. Their ages are 17, 6 and soon to be 4.

My youngest saw him just a little before she turned 2 because she fell into the table. We thought she was going to lose her tooth. He took her in right away and gentle examined her. Thank God, the root was intact and she was able to keep it. This incident took me back two years prior. My son then 2 had just had his first dental appt, X-rays, cleaning etc. He did really well. They even have a Crying Room for those who are more apt to scream and cry, so that the other kids don't get frightened. They even take a picture to commemorate the moment. Unfortunately 3 wks later we had to take my son back to the dentist because he fell and cracked his right front tooth. They had to pull it. Again they were comforting to my son as well as me. I was in tears. They gave me several options(including a replacement) and we chose the one that suited my sons personality, we left the hole. He loved apples and would not have been able to eat them with the false tooth. He's smile is infectious, gap and all. They even gave us a letter for the tooth fairy explaining why it had to come out so early and a container to hold the tooth!! It was a difficult experience but one made awesome by the dentist and his staff.

This wonderful man's name is Dr.Bob Fisher. His phone number is ###-###-####

Good luck

oh! I can answer this one!

We just went to StarBright Dental off Fremont Blvd, on the corner of Eggers.

The 2 female dentists were so sweet and kind. My kids were 7 and 5 and they enjoyed the whole thing! They got xrays taken and everything and acutally are not afraid of returning!!

So, I do recommend this group!

Hi,

I have a Wonderful pediatric dentist his name is Jason Law in Fremont his number is ###-###-####. They are great with kids. There is a train play area to play with when you arrive and then when taken back they have a bunch of stuffed animals to play with, they give the kids sun glasses to wear if they want for fun!
My daughters first time she was a bit skeptical so they let her sit on my lap when they cleaned her teeth until she felt comfortable sitting in the chair. They cater to the kid which is so nice! They have prizes after they are done to take home with of course a special toothbrush!!!! I think you will love them! Very, very nice!!!! Kids are #1 there for sure.

Hello: My son goes to a female pediatric dentist in Union City. The pedi dentist is kid oriented and so very friendly!! She talks to and with my son, has fun things to do with teeth and instruments etc. She practices out of an office that also has general dentistry...I have gone there for 25 years! She is Dr. Chong and the number is ###-###-####. She is wonderful and that office has been around for quite awhile. She has a one year old daughter herself. Tell her Zayle's mom sent you.

Whatever you do don't go to Dr. Stephen Chang. He recommended and scared me into putting caps on my sons teeth (involves putting him "under") which turns out he didn't do a complete job so now my son is susceptible to cysts and now needs to take anitiboitics for to keep under control when it flares up.

It's hard to find a pediatric dentist in the area as there are not many listed (that's why I ended up with Dr. Chang). I have now found a fabulous Dentist in Dublin. Dr. Alex Wong at Little Smile Makers. He's up on current techniques, his office is so kid friendly, lots of toys, movies and prizes for the kiddies. The kids love it there. Dublin is only 15-20 minutes from Fremont if you take 680. Worth the drive!

Hi C.
Yes I would highly recommend Hema Patel, DDS Smile Plus Dentistry, 2191 Mowry Ave. Suite 600B, Fremont (across from Washington Hospital) ###-###-#### www.smileplusdentistry.com
Hema is wonderful with children, she makes them feel very relaxed and comfortable, has a great personality and smile, she is very gently with children.
I too had really bad experiences with dentists as a child growing up in England, but now I go every 6 months and would recommend Hema to everyone who has fear of dentists.

It may be a ways for you, but there is an EXCELLENT pediatric dentist in Palo Alto, Dr. Brian Quo. He is efficient (which is very important when it comes to little ones!) and great with kids, and his staff is wonderful. He's very up-to-date with a nice office that I'm sure your son will love! Good luck.

Dr. Kim Cooper in Burlingame is a great pediatric dentist. Before my children reached the teens, it was worth the 30 minute drive to reach her.

Hi C. -

If you don't mind driving over 237 to Palo Alto, Dr. Brian Quo in downtown PA is EXCELLENT. My 5-year-old daughter had to have a molar removed that she cracked and a spacer inserted, not a lot of fun. Brian was wonderful -- she never even knew what he was doing.

Good luck!

J.
