So What Happened?

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. We ended up at the Funway Park in Londonderry and LOVED it!!! We met my sister in-law there with her two kids and we stayed for three hours! I LOVED the fact that it is literally surrounded by woods so the kidos can't escape, unless they really, REALLY try :) We are going back this Friday too and most likely every Friday until the snow falls! This is a GREAT wesbite!! I am happy I found Mamasource!

They (moms of londonderry), just built a new playground last summer, called Funway Park, it is behind the fire station on 128. If you want to see what other playgrounds or activities are in the area check out my website, www.southernnhfamilyfun.com. Enjoy!!

Hello A.. There isn't too much in town particularly for toddlers. There is a park with a younger child's section. It is up with the LAFA baseball fields. The street that it is on in just across the street from the High School to the Left of the fire station> just cant seem to remember the name of the street. Also for on the weekends, the playground that is attached to Moose Hill Kindergarten is built to accomodate young preschool children with and without special needs and that might be a good choice late in the afternoon and days when school is not in session. This is on Pillsbury road sort of behind Matther Thornton .
Have fun and good luck.

There's a nice playground in Derry off of route 28. Diagonally across from The Fairways apartments is a street called Humphreys Street (I think) and a little ways down on the left is the driveway to the playground. I think the sign says "Don -something- Field). Sorry for not being more specific. I've been there a few times but never paid attention to the signs. It's a nice playground and it has some water features for the kids to play in.

there are a few good playgrounds in the Londonderry area. The one off of Mammouth Road behind the fire station in Londonderry(across from the high school) is great...its fenced in and there are separate sections for big kids & little kids. There's another park in Derry behind Parkland medical center called Alexander Carr that is also good....its in the shade in the afternoon. Other good parks are Griffin Park in Windham (has a farm stand w/animals & ice cream in the summer) & Livingston Park in Manchester (93 N to exit 9s...has walking path around the pond & everything). I know there are others in the area, but these are the ones I frequent the most with my 3 yr old & 16 month old.

My little guy loves the playground behind the fire station - not sure of the name of the road. They have a smaller section for toddlers to climb and slide, and a section for bigger kids.

We also love the Splash Pad at Don Ball park on Humphrey Road in Derry.

Also, if you're stuck inside on a rainy day - Discovery Stop is one of our favorites! Very clean, lots of fun for all ages!
