I am looking for a church that has modern music in the services, good childcare during services, great children's programs on wednesday nights, Women's bible study with childcare during the weekday mornings. Generally we go to Baptist churches but this isn't an absolute requirement. I really don't enjoy the choir type of music on a regular basis.

What can I do next?

I do not know if you have found n answer to you question. But I do know of the Salt Lake Christian Center on 7th east and about 40th south.
I am not a member of any of the gruops but there is I do know a live band during survices. Your other questions will have to be answered by either going to visit or giving them a call.
So it you are on the east side of the valley this might be worth for you to look into.

I attend a wonderful non-denominational Christian church called "The Point" I absolutely love the people there. The crowd is a little older but so loving and friendly. I'm 30 and I'm one of the younger ones. Other than the few teenagers and small children. I will give you the website so you can check it out! www.thepointchristianchurch.org Good luck!! Let me know if you have any further questions!

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latte-day Saints is a good church to attend and has all the characteristics you are looking for.

I've heard a lot of good things about South Mountain Community Church. http://www.smccutah.org/ I personally haven't attended this church, but I have a friend who attends regularily and just loves it. Contemporary music, daycare, coffee bar, children's programs. They have a lot of info on their website.

I wish you luck in your search for a church that has everything you desire.

Hi J.! I'm a recent transplant as well. Though we didn't end up going there, Southeast Baptist Church in Midvale (on Fort Union - you can find it on the internet) is a place that we visited that seems to meet your needs. Good luck - and welcome to the area!

J.,

Though I am not a member of the First Presbyterian Church,
I have been a visitor on occasion. Each Sunday at 9:30am
Pastor Mike and his "Rising Sound" group performs during the service. Perhaps this is what you are looking for.

They have Wednesday night meetings. http://www.fpcslc.org/content/view/162/286/

I don't know if they provide childcare or not.

With my whole heart,
C.

If you want a wonderful teaching/singing/learning class for your children, I would suggest you try the LDS/Mormon services one Sunday. My kids love primay! They learn about Jesus and choosing the right, they sing lots of songs, they give little talks and perform in the main services sometimes.
While the children have primary, the adults have gospel study and learn about parenting issues, social issues, etc. and receive a lot of help an encouragment in following Christ and being happy!!!
