Is There Such a Thing (Big & Tall Question)?

Is there such a thing as jeans with a 29' waist and a 34' length? My fifteen year old is 6'2 (almost 6'3) and I kid you not he has a 29' waist (probably smaller actually). It has been almost impossible for me to find jeans in a store that are long enough, but don't literally fall off him.

I think the kid could still wear a size 12 waist.

I'm trying to take all of his old stuff out of his room so he doesn't walk around in clothes that are clearly too small. Why do some boys do this? I would think he would notice he's wearing shorty-shorts. :P But man he is hard to buy for.

What can I do next?

My son is like that -- he's finally filling out a little. I used to get his jeans at Old Navy - I would get the slender fit, or skinny fit, whatever it is called. And they were still usually a little short.

Come to think of it, I can't remember buying him pants for at least a couple of years, and he's 6'4" now. What has he been wearing?

Your son could be my husband! Wait...that sounded not right. I mean my husband is 6'2 and also wears a 29 - 30 waist, and a 34 length.

I believe that the best place we have found is the Eddie Bauer online. You can get some pretty good deals there and the quality is good. Other than that he does a lot of shopping at Kohl's.

Yep! My dad has that same build, but he just goes for the highwaters, much to our chagrin.

Go online for special sizes.

www.Gap.com has that size - just found it

Also could check Old Navy or Banana Republic, depending upon your price point.

Check the online stores for the department stores hyou usually shop in. I know when I worked at Penney's if something was on sale in the store but the store did not carry the size you needed you could order it at the store but from the catallog or online store and get the store sale price and no shipping price as long as it was shipped to the store. I don't know it that is still policy but it's worth a shot.

My son is a hard to fit 29 waist and 32 long.

I think men’s sizes go from 28” to 30” to 32”, every other even number. You will have to get him 30” waist and 34” length and a nice belt to wear with them.

Hi! JCPenney has jeans and Dockers in a 29/34. Thank goodness my son doesn't do that "mom, they're alright" thing to me anymore about clothes. I think they just don't notice or care. Oh, we've moved up, he's 30/36 now. He does find getting shirts really frustrating. Good luck!

Yes, the odd numbered sizes are more difficult to find. But if you shop at some of the online retailers you should have better luck.
You could try Eddie Bauer or LLBean. Or you could just pull up your favorite department store, and search for the style/brand/size he needs. For example, here is Belk's Levi's 505 straightleg jeans in the size you mentioned: 29 W 34 L, for $39.99. You just have to order online, because they probably don't carry that size in the store. Often, though, you can arrange "store pickup" so he could try them on for fit, before getting them home. ?

My SS is tall and thin. We had to go by height and get the smallest waist possible and a belt.

I used to buy 28/36s from Tommy

less common sizes are harder to find, but they're available. ESP online. GAP often has them in store in their 'vaulr', but most others keep them in back or you have to order online.

I know they exist because if not my daughter's boyfriend would be without pants a lot. I swear he has a 25 inch waist! I love my daughter's description, he looks like you took a 12 year old and stretched him. I think he is 6'4.

If you don't get any good answers by the time I talk to my daughter later I will ask her where he shops. :) She will think I am strange but I will take one for the team.

Oh these children I speak of are 22.
