I Really Need Help to Find an OB!

I live the Flint MI area and would like to deliver at Hurley. I really need any recommendations for OBs and why you would recommend them. I gave birth at 21 weeks gestation on May 7,2009 to my son Benjamin. He only lived for two hours. I am now currently 12 weeks pregnant and feeling like my current OB is taking me less and less seriously all the time. I am wondering if anyone can help me as I really need any advice you can offer!

What can I do next?

Hello! I live in Flint and was sent to the Hurley group which is 4 doctors...Mareno, Lecea, a ady and another guy...I loved all 4 doctors and their office is right at the hospital. I have heard that Kulkarni is grea too but she is another one who only takes on a certain number of patients. What I liked about the group was that you got to meet all of them so you felt comfortable with whichever one delivered you, with a single person, if they aren't there, you have some random person. Good luck to you!

I delivered my boys at 28 weeks at Hurley. I went into the hospital at 25 and stayed until they were born. Dr, Neubeck, Dr. Perry, and Dr. Ahmad were my Doctors. They are on linden Rd in Flint. I really liked all three. They are all very different from each other but I like that and the fact that they work together on patient issues

I really like Hurley. They are the only Trauma 4 NICU in the area. My children spent a long time there and had great care. Good Luck!

Nita is good but she only takes so many pregnancies per year. My sister had her and I was present for the delivery. I thought she was good also but, my sister hated Hurley. I use Dr Richard Ellsworth in Grand Blanc ###-###-####. Not sure if he goes to Hurley but probably. I delivered at Genesys and had very good experiences both times. I love all the doctors and staff there and have referred many friends. They are all american and english speaking. Hope to not offend anyone but I don't like a doctor I cannot understand. Good luck.

This is quite a coincidence...I was going to post the same question today!! Well I don't have your history, but need recommendations to Hurley ob's...my previous doctor moved to another state (Dr Samra in Flushing) and I need to find another in the area.

My first delivery (actually an emergency c-section) was at McLaren and I was dis-satified w/ their services. My labor was induced and when my baby was crowning the doctors/nurses had an argument because they couldn't find the correct forceps (sp?)...baby was facing the wrong way...I remember it being chaos (we were in major trauma & it happened so quickly) and everyone being very disorganized and it freaked me (and hubby) out!! I want to be at Hurley this time because I've heard so many good things about their children's care!

Also, I delivered on a Friday night...and McLaren doesn't have a lactation specialist on the weekends...this was a problem as I had lots of problems w/ latching correctly and really wanted help!

I'm seeing my family dr. tomorrow for a pg test and will ask her for recommendations too! I will update for you and I'm very interest in your responses! GOOD LUCK!

I can recommend two doctors:

Dr. Nita Kulkarni - she's my doctor and everyone I've ever sent to her has L-O-V-E-D her. She's really the best doctor I've ever had for anything. She has no affiliation with any one particular hospital so she can go anywhere.

Dr. Mona Hardas - She's another really good one. When Kulkarni had to deliver another baby while I was in the hospital, she sent Dr. Hardas in to discharge me. She was kind and I have heard she's another one that everyone loves. *Edit- I believe she is affiliated with Hurley. I would think so since she was making rounds there when I was discharged.

Good luck! I think you'll be happy if you can get in with either one of them! :)

M., I will certainly keep you in prayers for a healthy and peaceful delivery. Although I don't know of doctors connected with Hurley, I thought I'd write anyway. In 2007, I delivered at McLaren and had the best experience I could have asked for. I worked with a Midwife originally, named Jeanne Philpotts. She is located in Burton. Due to some unexpected issues, though, I had to deliver with C-Section at the last minute. The OB/Surgeon was AMAZING! LOVED her! Her name is Dr. Natasha Laird. Her # is ###-###-####. I don't think she works with Hurley, but her office could make recommendations. And, who knows, if you're open to McLaren, they could very well serve you.

Take care, sister.
