Just Wondering Who You Use...

Hi there.
I saw there was a thread back in February about ob/gyns you recommend, but few responses. I just got back from an appointment and was not very happy with the doc I saw (I have seen him 2 times so far). He was condescending when I asked questions and did not seem very knowledgeable. We hope to start TTC later in the year, and I would love to have someone I am comfortable with when we do get preggers.
If anyone has an ob/gyn they like in the Leavenworth/Lansing area, PLEASE respond.
I'm also curious where others have delivered because most of the moms I talk to around here are going all the way to Overland Park to have their babies. Just wondering in case we are here an extra year.
Thanks!

What can I do next?

A.,
I see Dr. McBratney, unfortunately she is not accepting new patients. We had Dr. Murphy listed as a backup if my Dr. (she was going on vacation the week before my due date), but Dr. Murphy no longer goes to St. Johns. So we had Dr. Hurley as the back up. Fortunately our Dr. delivered our son. We did meet Dr. Hurley in the hospital she checked in on us, she was very nice and answered any questions we had. I have heard great things about her from other women as well.

There is a woman ob/gyn here in Leavenworth across from Price Chopper on 2201 S. 4th St. Dr. Martha Hurley is her name. I think she goes to Cushing. Her number is ###-###-####.

I have no need of ob services anymore, but I took my teenager to Dr. Hurley for gyn services for pcos and she was great with her. I might go to her for my next gyn appt because the doctor I've been using is in KCMO and that's a long drive with the cost of gas these days.

Hi A.! I was having problems with ovarian cysts and was referred to Dr. Murphy. He and Dr. Watts have an office in the St. John Medical Plaza, but I am not sure where you have to go to deliver. I have only seen him once so far, but I liked him. I know several expecting mothers who have used them and have been pleased. One of my friends just saw a female ob/gyn last week. She really liked her. I don't remember the dr's name, but I can get it from her if you are interested. Just let me know.

Hi A.! I am not sure exacty what city you are looking for a provider but I highly recomend(dont think thats spelled right Womens Clinic. There main office is located at Providence Medical Building in KC, KS but they also have a satellite location in Leavenworth. They have 4 providers and I have seen 3 of them. My personal favorite is Dr. Brandi Wilson and I see her for everything!! She is absolutly wonderful!! OB care is usually split between all doctors so that if an emergency comes up, they are all familiar with your case. That is how it was with my first child born Aug '05 and I am currently pregnant with baby #2 due in April. I have seen Dr. Wilson for my first appt and my 2nd appt is with her as well so not sure if they have changed the rotation thing since they have 4 providers but I guess I'll find out. The other 3 providers are Dr. Liu (male), Dr. Lorenzetti (female), and I am sorry but can't remember the last name since I haven't met her yet. I hope this helps!

Hi~

I have lived in Leavenworth my entire life. I have used different doctors, but never really liked them. 3 years ago I started going to Dr. John Murphy. He is located in front of St. Johns Hospital. I LOVE him. He really makes sure he is there for you. You don't feel l-ke you are just another patient. His number is ###-###-####.
I have 3 children. I have delivered at Providence, St. Johns and Overland Park. I really liked St. Johns. It might not be the most elaborate hospital, but the nurses take such good care of you and made my second delivery very special. The only reason I went to Overlandpark for my 3rd baby is she was very premature and I needed a NICU.
But I would highly recommend St.Johns or Overland Park.
Dr.Murphy delivers both places. Also, I saw that some other people recommened Dr.Brandi Wilson. I used to go to her, but during pregnancy you have to go to all 4 doctors because you don't know who will be on call when you go into labor. One of their partners is Dr. Lorinzeti. That is who I had for my 1st delivery (unfortunatly) I immediatly switched OB's after. I have talked to several people that said they did the same.
Hope this helps. Good luck!
