I am just now getting the courage to leave and I don't even know where to start. Does anyone have any advice?? Know of any cheap lawyers? Counselors for me... i need it desperately. OU also offers free Legal help. The Law Students are required to do so many hours before they can get their degree. I don't have the number but they do take each case on a case by case and income.

When my husband and I were having problems we went to see Shawn McGuirer. He was really good. He is off May and 122nd next to the Braums. He handles everything and he will let you bring your little one with you which can be helpfull if you can't afford care.

J.,

I went through the same thing, but I was about 6 years older and my parents were really there for me financially, as far as the lawyer goes....Counseling, you can look up a lot of counseling through 1)your health insurance provider or 2)the state has several mental health clinics and counseling options through their insurance, if you are eligilble for that. If not, look at local churches for a divorce care class/group. Lots of them offer them. I will be honest, I went to one and I was the youngest person there and had the shortest marraige...I felt really out of place, but my church has a mostly older congregation...just look for a more diverse church....I hope that this helps, but I'll be on here if you need me....B.

I go to Crossings Community Church and I know they have some excellent counselors as well as support groups. Their number is ###-###-####. Their website is crossingsokc.org. They understand that a lot of people aren't going through "idealistic" situations and they really try to give a lot of support to those who need it. I didn't think I would like Crossings when I started going there because it's a really big church. Once I went though, I really enjoyed it. I don't know of any lawyers but I hope Crossings could help you in some way. Good luck.

I was in that same situation. It is a very very tough place to be. Do you have any family that is around to support you? That was a huge factor in me dealing with my divorce. Also after you seperate from him I would go to DHS and see what help you can qualify for. If you qualify for medicaid you can get counseling through them. As far as a lawyer goes, I don't know any cheap ones. My divorce was contested and took awhile so it ended up costing a total of $3000. If it would have been uncontested it would have been around $1500. If you two can agree on everything you can file the paperwork yourself and just pay filing fees. If you need to talk feel free to message me or email at ____@____.com. Believe me I know what you are going through. My ex cheated on me with several different women. Anyway, I am here anytime you need to cry, scream, whatever. Hope to hear from you.
