If you haven't already, you might give Bible Study Fellowship (www.bsfinternational.org) a try. It is a wonderful Bible study program!

BSF offers both a day and evening group for women. The closest to you in Mesquite would be the Garland groups. The day women's class meets on Tuesday morning from 9:10-11:10 a.m. at First Baptist Garland. Their children's program is exceptional (for ages 2-5 years); your child will be learning exactly what you are studying about that week. As for the evening women's class, it meets on Monday evening from 6:55-8:55 p.m. at Mt. Hebron Baptist Church in Garland. They also have an exceptional children's program (for school age children, 1st-12th grade).

Throughout the year each class will offer an Introduction. This is a time when you go learn about and register for BSF and the children's program as well as learn the guidelines. Note: There is not childcare for the introduction class. The next evening women's introduction is Monday, December 1st.

Visit Gethsame Baptist on Clay Mathis. Wonderful, close family church.

Sundays at 1 p.m. at the Bruton Road Christian Church - in the side building.

Tuesday evenings around 7 p.m. (devotional and food) and Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. Bible classes both of these at Allenhurst apartments in Mesquite. Off Military parkway and I think Gross road.

But there are people there willing to meet you elsewhere to have a Bible study. And that's exactly what we're after - helping people understand the Bible and lead their children and others to understand as well; plus totally laid back.

K., My daughter and I attend a bible study that's really interesting, but it's in Sachse. You would, of course, be welcome to attend, but if you have a group of friends who are also interested in learning more about the bible, let me recommend the plan we're using. It's called The Frazzled Female by Cindi Wood. The workbooks (which each person will need) are about $10 each. I don't know how much the study leaders book is, but I figure it's probably about the same amount. You do a chapter each week and each chapter deals with a different aspect of a woman's life. It's really a great bible study and we're enjoying it a great deal. We meet each Sunday afternoon at 3PM (it's what works best for us) and it takes about 2 hours - that's with snacks and a lot of visiting thrown in - it probably wouldn't take more than an hour if we didn't enjoying visiting so much! You should check out Lakepointe.org... I know Lakepointe Church has a Towneast campus and they offer awesome Bible studies.You could also attend an ABF(Adult Bible Fellowship) which is pretty much a group of people (in close to the same time period of life as you) getting a deeper understanding and knowledge of the Bible and also getting fellowship as an added bonus!
