My family is new to the area & looking for a large multiethnic Baptist Church in the Dallas area. I have visited several that have all been nice but smaller and not as diverse as I'm used to. Before the move we attended Kansas City Baptist Temple where the crowd is very mixed any given day. I don't need anything flashy or a church that is all about how much money I can give. Just looking for a passionate worship, youth programs with good leaders and fellowship. I live in Dallas/Garland area however I am willing to travel farther to find the right place.

What can I do next?

Have you tried Lakepointe in Rockwall? It's large and a Baptist based. The worship is very passionate and I've been very pleased with the youth programs over the years. I've been a member there for 10 years and have really loved it.

I can't be too helpful since I'm Catholic, but I know that Irving Bible Church is really good. I think they're non-denom, not Baptist, but they have a ton of really good ministries and are very good about reaching out to the community.

Hope you find the right church home for you. And welcome to the area!

You might try Wilshire Baptist on Mockingbird/Abrams in Dallas. Park Cities Baptist on Preston and Northwest Hwy is another option, although it is very very large. They have a spanish speaking ministry there that gives it some diversity.

Lakepointe Rockwall is great but if you live in Garland you may prefer the Lakepointe Firewheel campus on the corner of Campbell and Murphy Rd.
It's a satellite campus to the Rockwall location and there's also one in Mesquite that's Lakepointe Town East. And attend TE campus and love it.

I go to The heights off 75 and Renner and we love it. It is large but not to big and every Sunday they have 2 services plus a special service in Spanish. We do a ton of outreach events with Some of the poor schools in Richardson, and alot of those families have ended up coming on Sundays. I think you would really like it.

I too recommend Lakepointe Church. We used to attend the main campus in Rockwall, but now attend the services at the Firewhell campus off of Murphy Road. The website for Lakepointe is www.lakepointe.org. Good luck in your search!

I've found that with Baptist churches the larger the congregation, the better your chances for diversity. Also, larger churches tend to have better youth programs. However, I've also noticed that churches of all kinds tend to be racially divided. The largest Baptist church in D/FW is Prestonwood in west Plano.
