Hi ladies,
I am looking for advice on the dreaded “hemorrhoid” issue. My doctor says I need to have them removed and have the surgery. I did some checking on line and it appears this is a VERY painful surgery and recovery. Some people said it took them 6 months to recover and that was not a FULL recovery. I know I need to do something, so I am looking for advice here. Have any of you had hemorrhoids removed surgically? How was the recovery? Are there other options out there besides this? ANY feedback is appreciated! Please!

What can I do next?

I had postpartum hemmroids and found Ziro by ZenMed online. It is made with natural ingredients and found relief in one week. I also did the FiberSmart fiber powder too. Whenever you increase fiber, always increase the water, otherwise it will make it more difficult to go. Good luck!

My neighbor just had the surgery last week and is doing fine now. She had more problems with the anesthetic and nausea than the actual surgery itself. She said the bother of the hemorrhoids was worse than the surgery and she's glad she had it done.

I have had 2 family members who swear by using Vick's Vaporub!
After using it my aunt cancelled her surgery.

I had cluster 'roids when I was pregnant with my 3rd child. It was so uncomfortable I could not sit down! My doctor induced me (I was at 40 weeks) after I complained about the pain. I guess I was one of the lucky ones, while he was stitching me up after giving birth, he also removed the hemroids. Since everything was "tender" to begin with, I never noticed the pain associated with healing. But I don't recall it being any longer than healing from an episiotimy (sp). But again, mine were external 'roids.
Good Luck!

I never thought I would publicly discuss this issue until I had mine removed. But, since I have, I want to tell everyone I can about this place...It's called the Center for Colorectal Health. Not sure where you live, but I went to the office downtown across from Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

This procedure is life-changing - I'm not kidding. I had terrible 'roids (4 internal, 1 thrombosed internal/external) and couldn't take it anymore. I'm also a huge wuss (which kept me from having them removed earlier), but it is completely PAINLESS. I'm talking no pain at all - zero!! Completely covered by insurance. If you can get over your modesty of having Dr. Drost look up your butt (sorry!), this is the way to go. The actual procedure is a rubber-banding type system that they wrap around the 'roid. It cuts off the blood circulation and the thing basically withers up and dies. It takes less than 5 minutes (although you have to have them removed one at a time). Here's a link to the website: http://www.crhcenter.com/patients/about_hemorrhoids/our_p.... You can also e-mail me privately if you want more info.

I'm pregnant again right now and expect to get them again. This time I'm not waiting another year to get them removed - I'm going right away!
