ok frineds. I've heldpd you name your babies and your businesses. Now I need your help naming my truck.
We have a silver Mazda6 that I named "Silver Bullet." Because it's silver, and fast, and because we drink a lot of Coors Light!
I bought a 1986 Ford Ranger. It's just an old, rusty, dusty ranger, but I love it. I think it's adorable. It's faded red and white striped. The white is faded to an off white or cream. So, it kind of reminds me of something nostalgic, like a 50s era soda shop feel. Bit it's actually from the 80s, so not exactly. I bought it as a work truck for my husband and for me to haul stuff. I like to go to garage sales on the weekend and sometimes I go to Home Depot and buy flowers and dirt, etc. The name can't be so girly that it offends my Husband, since it's his main transportation. Since it's a utility vehicle and meant to carry a load the only name that's come to me so far is the Mule. What else can ya'll think of for me? What can we name our little truck?

What can I do next?

Add some blue and call it Old Glory. So funny that you name your car, mine has one too. I used to drive trucks which got progressively bigger. S-10 to Silverado to an extended cab step side. They were all black, big and bad. Then I got this CRV that is very VERY bright color. No kidding the color is called Blurple. So I when I drove it to work one day my co-worker and friend came out and asked me about it, and out of my mouth comes, "it's my purple gay mobile." I was mortified because the person I was talking to was gay. I don't even know where that came from, but he laughed so hard (probably at the look on my face) and the name stuck.

I named mine from the Jungle Book, and you can borrow it if it fits: Bagheera. Baggy for short. Our Jeep's name is Pepe (from romancing the stone... his "little mule")

Duke-for Dukes of Hazzard. Your story made me think of them. Or Daisy-for Daisy Duke.

Or Red Rocket-kind of matches Silver Bullet

My husband and I are fans of the Pixar movie CARS. What about getting your inspiration from there? Rust-eze could be cute.

I name my cars too. My first was named Old Smokey. I was a teen and my parents gave me their old Ford stationwagon that smoked out the back. (she didn't last too long) Then there was Sherly, my mom's old car with a black bra. Then the first car I bought... Louie. Had him for 14 years. Now I have The HAL Mobile. (HAL1138 is the name of my R2 droid)
It's so much fun naming our cars!!!

My first thought was Candy Cane, but that could be too girly for your husband. How about "Old Timer" or "Tried & True". I actually like "Rusty Dusty Ranger" I think that is perfect. I have always named my vehicles too, but always the same name. Good Luck

How about just 'Red'... Like 'Red Foreman' from 'That 70's Show' which later turned into the 80's. : )

How about 'Bueller'. 1986 was the year that 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off' came out.

To go with colors & 1986- Chuck Berry and James Brown were inducted into Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in January of 1986.

My first thought when you mentioned old "rusty" truck was "Fred". You know, the sweet old rusty truck in the Pixar "Cars" movies. I vote for Fred. :-)

Blessings,
