Help Me Find the Right Pair of Jeans!

I have never been able to find a pair of jeans that REALLY fits right. I have always bought my jeans at old navy (b/c you can get them on sale for $20) but i am pulling up my jeans all day long. I think i may not be curvy enough for old navy jeans. I am 5.2 and 120 lbs. I have had two kids but i still don't have very many curves especially in the hips. I have a little bit of a tummy from my kids. I need a short jean that fits just below or at my belly button. I REFUSE to wear low rise anymore! (seriously that really never was a good idea!) I have always worn a boot cut but i am willing to look at a straight cut if it looks good.
I usually don't spend much money on clothes but i am willing to spend more if i can find a pair that is right!

Does anybody know of a good jean for me???

What can I do next?

I found some great jeans at Macy's for $25 in the juniors section. I'm 5.4 and 106 with no booty, no hips, skinny legs, and a slim but soft-my baby did it to me-center. I have trouble finding jeans that don't stretch out after being worn an hour or 2. I hate having to constantly pull them up and since I have no hips or rear that always seems to be my case!
These jeans hit just below the belly button, don't stretch out to much after being worn for awhile, are boot cut, and don't have rips, tears, or fading on them. The pockets are really cute too. The brand is "grane." If they are too long for you, you can get them hemmed and still have spent less than $40 on a pair of jeans!
I also love my Citizens, Nordstroms, $200. I bought them 5 years ago and they are a little big on me now and starting to rip at the knee but when I bought them, the sales lady made sure she found me a good fit and then had them hemmed for me; I must have tried on 20 pairs of jeans with her help that day.
You might try Target's Mossimo jeans. I liked them but the smallest they come is a 2 and I need one size smaller now. They do have short sizes. Avoid the juniors sizes (1,3,5, the odd numbers) and the waist line shouldn't sit too low. The womens sizes (even numbers) are usually folded up on the shelves.
I've also learned that the more you wash your jeans, the older they get, the stretchier they become, which leaves you pulling them up all day! My citizens are starting to do that now!
Good luck! It's sort of like a search for the holy grail isn't it!

I love the fit of Guess jeans. I am 5'4" and about 116#. You can get some that are not super low cut if you want. I personally like the low cut ones.

I know it sounds scary to think of spending upwards of $150 on jeans but if you wear them over several years...you already got your money out of them... It is worth it.

Also, before I found Guess.....I bought jeans in the little boys department. They are cut a little differently and fit great.

Good luck.

I am 5 feet 2 inches and have a "mommy" body. I like wearing my jeans higher too. I like the Petite curvy jeans from lands end...they are around $39. www.landsend.com.
You can also checkout out Talbots Petite. Their jeans fit just below or at the belly button too. You can find some good buys there on sale/clearance. Good luck.

I love the jeans from New York & Co. If you check with them often you can catch a 50% off sale. My favorite pair they have are the Eastside Flair!

If it's close enough to you, I'd go to Grapevine Mills before you go hunting at a bunch of different stores.

Don't get me wrong--I love a good treasure hunt at thrift stores especially but also places like TJ Maxx, Ross, Plato's Closet. My sisters and I have been shopping these places for years and years and have found that as far as easily finding a pair of jeans, they're not the best place to start.

My sisters and I went to Grapevine Mills one morning as soon as they opened and by 1pm we all had at least one pair of jeans that are perfect. The stores nearly always have sales going on. Park outside the giant football and you'll be right there at Banana Republic, J Crew, Ann Taylor Loft, and Gap. Gap and J Crew I know for sure offer a short length. I found a pair at J Crew and Gap that couldn't fit me better. I wear them all the time and they were each between $30-$40 (can't remember the exact prices).

If that doesn't work out, you might try Lee jeans because I'm guessing they come in a good range of sizes, but also because of their "no-gap" waist band.

Good luck! It's awesome to have jeans that you really love!

cambio jeans...they are the best...they have the perfect amount of stretch. I think they carry them at nordstroms. go to nordstroms and try them on to determine your size then bid for them on ebay and you can get them for $20-40 and they are $120-180 jeans. believe me, you'll be glad you did!

I have been told to go to Buckle in the mall. It seems to be a teen spot, but this company prides itself on being able to perfectly fit you in jeans. The employees are trained and shocked my boss. She is in her late forties and said she was so impressed with the service and results....I need to go myself for sure.

My sister is about your size, about 20 lbs heavier... she has a hard time with good jeans, she said she really likes the ones at walmart, I don't know the brand name, but maybe try there, that aren't that expensive.

There is nothing harder than finding a good pair of jeans that fit well! I actually just finished reading a book entitled: "All I need is Jesus and a good pair of jeans". You are built very similar to me - I'm 5'4" and 125-130 and very little in the hips. I have always found Lee jeans to fit me very well. You can get them on sale at Kohl's for under $20. I also did just find a nice pair of DKNY jeans at Ross ($20 - regularly $80) that fit extremely well. They are lower cut - just below the belly button - to me that is low cut as in my day, jeans hit at your natural waistline ;). But, with Ross of course, you have to do alot of digging. But, I have also found Calvin Kleins there, but they did not fit me quite as well as they did when I was a teen when I had even less hips. Those might work for you as well. I use to wear Levi's as a teen, but really they don't seem to fit me nearly as well.

I agree with you about the low rise jean, NOT for "mature" ladies. I am 27 and have just transistioned from the twenty soemthing wardrobe to the mature 30 year old. First, you DO want a rise that meets right at your belly button, because of your height (i am 4 11), you WILL have to resort to investing in tayloring. WIth that being said, you want to go for DARK washes because they are more complimentary to the body. Also, go for a wide leg, for example, hold up the pair of jeans and make sure they are the same width from the knee down. Most jeans go in at the knee and then wide all the way down. Do not go for jeans like those. Once you find a good fit on top, you can take them to get taylored to your height. They should be i believe an inch above your shoes so you want to designate a pair for heels and a pair for flats. Try watching "what not to wear on TLC channel 183, if you have cable, if not you can look them up on line. The show is hosted by Stacy London and Clinton Kelly, they have never steered me wrong. Good Luck!!

YES!!! WAL-MART!!! You need to try on the LEVI Signature jeans. Your shape sounds similar to mine. The jeans hit me right below the belly button and help hold in the tummy. I have a pretty good butt and muscular legs and they fit so nicely. There is a little bit of stretch to them, but not so much that they fall down. I can wear mine several times before washing again and they still stay up. Please try them and let me know what you think!!!!!
