Hi moms, i'm looking for a good pair of going out jeans, i'm 5'6 and got some tummy and am not so big on my thigh hip area. I have a problem finding good bootcut jeans, petite is too short for me and regular is sometimes to long for me. Where can i find good nice fitting going out jeans for my height and body type. I've tried ann taylor but they have trouser pants and i'm not interested in that. New york and co jeans look horrible on me...where do you all shop? thanks

What can I do next?

I'm the catalog queen :) I love Land's End jeans; they offer lots of options in styles, stretch, colors, and best of all you order the length you need.

NOT YOUR MOTHER'S JEANS =D

you'll love them......

as far as the length- go for a longer fit and have them hemmed... jeans tend to be investment pieces of clothing since they last FOREVER with proper care!!!

Good luck!

I just got some new Levi's jeans from Macy's. They have a higher waist and say "perfectly slimming" on the tag, which helps hide my post-baby belly. I am about 5'4" and they are a little too long on me, so they'll probably be perfect for you. Mine are bootcut and size 12. I'm not sure what style number they are (maybe 512?), but there were a lot of different ones to choose from.

I found my favorite pair of jeans at Chico's of all places. I don't normally shop there but I was in there with my Mom and two of the girls in the store had them on. They were both totally different body types and the jeans looked great on both of them so I tried them on. They really make you look slimmer and are very comfortable. I am 5'5" and have the tummy thing happening and am not as big in the hip/thigh area as well so it might be worth a try for you. Good luck on your jeans quest!

"Not your daughter's jeans" is a great brand... Super soft and have tummy control/rear-end lifting panels of some sort that really flatter all body types. They are sold in a variety of cuts and washes...I like boot cut the best.... But all are very current and great for going out. They do not look at all like "mom" jeans! Nordstroms and Macy's carry them...good luck!

Try Gap. Find ones that fit and don't worry about length, a good tailor can always shorten......Also, Old Navy has some great jeans at low prices! Gloria Vanderbuilt makes jeans that are higher in the rise, but not "mom jeans" that have a hidden tummy panel to help pull you in there....Costco carries them so you know they are not expensive~

I'm 5'7" and curvy - about a size 8/10. I love Joe's Jeans. I know they're a little pricey, but I love them for fit on my butt (no gap in the back) and length. If I wear heels with them, they're the perfect length for me. However, my suggestion to you is to not worry about finding the perfect pants/jeans for length, but rather ones that fit you perfectly in waist, butt, hip area, but may be a bit long. Take them to get them tailored. It's not as expensive as you might think - $20 or less usually and they will hem them and put the original hem back on - you won't even be able to tell they've been hemmed. I have short friends who all do this and it looks great, can't even tell.

The CurveId jeans that someone mentions look pretty good. I keep seeing ads for them and would like to try them.

I have always had great luck with Fashion Bug and there's a store close to you in Lemon Grove. They have several types of jeans; I'm sure you will be able to find what you're looking for. They also have gorgeous blouses and other stuff too. You won't be disappointed.

Take it from Stacey & Clinton, buy jeans that hit you in all the right spots and have them tailored. If the are too short then petite isn't the right size. It's not too much trouble to have them tailored and it's not very expensive and you'll get a killer custom clean look. I love Levis 545. JC Penny's has great jeans includig Gloria Vanderbilt which are great If you're curvy.

GAP jeans and Calvin Klein jeans are my favorite! I'm 5'8" and sometimes even regular length jeans are too long on me. You just have to try em' on there at the store even though that can be a pain the the butt! Also, take you "going out" shoes with you, that way you'll know how they fit with your shoes!

you could also get your jeans hemmed - either go to a tailor, get it done at the store (I know it's free if you get then at Nordstroms) or they have this new thingy I sw on TV - haven't tried them yet - but it's only $10 at Bed Bath and Beyond:
Style Snaps™ Snap Hem Solution
just another thought - hope you find ones that fit and look great!

Levi's has a new style called CurveID that focuses more on different "curve types" and less on size. It might be worth a trip to Macy's to check out what your Levi's CurveID is and see if they can get you in a pair that would be perfect for you. Good luck!

Try on every pair in the Brass Plum dept at Nordstrom, Im your same height/size and have found Vigoss jeans to fit realy nice, even for those not so hippy, less then $60 a pair, If you want to invest in something real nice go to the ladies dept, I would stay away from a boot cut though.

I've had issues with getting jeans to fit me right. I had the best luck with Gap jeans. They have so many styles to choose from. The sales people really helped me find the right fit for my body type. I actually ended up with more than one pair that worked well for me and I've never had that much success before.
