Hello, Moms! I'm hoping somebody out here can help me. My son is very sick, and took his blanky with him today to the doctor. We lost it at the pharmacy, and nobody turned it in. I know if we go to the hospital without Bear, we're really going to have problems. I have searched the internet for 3 years looking for a backup with no success. So many of you are good at this kind of stuff, I'm hoping somebody else might be able to tell me where to find it. It is a My Banky Bear, dark brown, large size, although he might be willing to take a small one. Thank you, Moms!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Bear was found. The next day when my son was well enough to drag out of the house, we took him back, and they remembered him. Turned out they just didn't want to give such a special, loved little bear to just anyone. We got it back just in time for an unexpected trip to the hospital. Thanks, Moms! We're still on the hunt for another replacement, though.

I just had a lady call me back who used to sell my blanket I'm looking for. It is called My Banky Chancy, made by Crazy Mountain. Crazy Mountain shut down unexpectedly in July. Chancy was one of their most popular blankets. My little guy would like Chancy either big or small over another bear blanket. We'll continue to try to sell him on some of the others, but any help finding Chancy would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Thank you, Ladies! I knew you all would do better than I would. I haven't found exactly the same thing, but I have a few to show him when he wakes up to see if they might be a good new friend. We'll keep looking in the meantime. Thank you!

OH NO! That really stinks. Is there any way you can get him to accept something else? Like tell him a story about how the My Banky Bear went on a journey where he has some adventures and the result is that he gets transformed into something else (or grows up into something else, changes his color, etc.). It can be so hard when you lose something as precious as the lovey -- but I'm guessing that replacing it with a brand new one won't be very easy. After a few years of lovin' from your baby it's not a "new" bear any more.
Good luck finding a solution!

Hi K. - I am so sorry your son is sick. The absolute worst time to lose a favorite comfort toy. Plus, those are really cute blankies! I can understand why your son likes it so much! I completely know how devastating it is to lose that favorite lovey. My son had a bear that he was so attached to that he lost who knows where. He was sad for days without it.

We didnt push having to find exactly the same thing - I remember as a child losing my favorite bear. My dad bought me a replacement and somehow it just never had the same magic as the first. I suggested to my son that his old bear had gone on some kind of big adventure and that it was his job now to give another special bear a home.

I hope that helps you - and that your son feels better!

A search on eBay for 'My Banky Bear' turned up 89 results.

Not all are brown, but most seem reasonably priced.
Might be able to find a back up or two there.
Amazon.com only turned up 4, but they were white and pink.
I hope your son feels better soon.

I don't know where you can get another one unless amazon.com might have one on it or if you remember the manufaturer. You might talk with your son and see if he could find a sub lovey. He might have another stuffed animal or bit of a blankie. Maybe even make something together so that it would be extra special. Like a tied fleece lovey.
