i am looking for a hair salon experienced in cutting multiracial children's hair. my daughter is part cuban, part african american, and part caucasian, so she has very kinky, loose, curly hair that is definitely not the texture of caucasian hair. so i need someone who is experienced in cutting her texture of hair in addition to cutting children's hair. i'm willing to travel to cherry hill or other nearby areas to get her a good cut. this would be her first cut, and she's 2 3/4 years old.

thanks for any help you can offer!!!

S. :)

I am not sure if this will help BUT... I have a three and a half year old daughter who is multiracial. My daughter is african-american, puerto rican and caucasion. her hair is soft but she has extremly thick, extremly curly hair that would just knot with in miuntes of combing. this past December i finally took her for her first haircut. we went to short cuts, in Grant shopping center/Grant and Busleton. they trimmed her hair and gave me some good advice for maintaining her hair and moisture. all of the hairdressers were caucasion but i was pleased with their work.
good luck.

My hubby and I live in West Philly and pretty much all of the salons are multicultural/African American. Which sucks, because then we have to go into Center City to do our hair, which costs far more than it should. So I would highly recommend checking out some West Philly hair salons (there are a TON of them) before dishing out the big bucks for a floofy, over-priced hair salon in Cherry Hill or anywhere else. I don't know what your preference is, but if you're just seeking a cut and not the image of the salon, check out West Philly, or Upper Darby. If the image of the salon concerns you, West Philly is probably not for you.

Did you try Cookie Cutters in Chestnut Hill. That is an upscale children's salon used to dealing with all kinds of clientele since the area is multicultural.
