Getting off the Depo Shot

Well, from my understanding it depends alot on how long you have been on the shot. I think there are other factors as well. Ask your doctor about it. http://www.fwhc.org/birth-control/bcdepo.htm There i some pretty good information about the depo shot.

when u stop taking the depo shot there is not any way u can tell how quickly it will work... could be immediate... and could take up to 2 years.... if u don't conceive within a year then u should see ur dr.... this could be an issue... BUT DON'T PUT ANY PRESSURE ON URSELF.... relax and enjoy the art of creating a child

i was on the depo shot i was having problems so i stopped getting them it took me about a year to get pregnant

I personly never took the depo shot after my older sister was on it i decided not to take it. she was on the shot and decided to get off to have another baby. she got pregnet about 5-6 months after but when she wasn't very far along she missed carried, we all thought it was from the shot. but we are not for sure. I personly think that you should wait at least a yr. just to be on the safe side. but if you doctors says that it's ok for you to start trying they should know best. good luck.

I always got pregnant right after coming off of anything. However I do have a friend that was on the depo for 7 years. She wanted to have another baby. It took her a year to get pregnant. So I think it just depends on how long you were on depo and how fertile you are. Also after you come off the shot, don't stress about trying to get prego cause that can also hinder you.

I was on Depo for 9 months. I had to stop using it because I was allergic to something in it. The last shot that I got was on a January and I was pregnant that May, so the 3 months for it to work out of my system plus two. But, I can get pregnant thinking about sex, so I may not be the best to go by!
