Does Anyone Know About These Gynocologists?

As a graduate student, I have been using the doctors at UMKC health center. Recently, they suggested that I find a private OB/GYN, since they mainly treat young students and I have some issues that would be better discussed with someone who sees more women my age range. I prefer a female gynocologist, and the following doctors are on my insurance plan. Can anyone tell me anything, bad or good, about any of these docs? THANKS!

Renee M. Belieu
Cristine G. Carriker
Janetta C. Proverbs
Kimberly Schlichter
Deborah A. Jantsch
Saroj A. Bavishi
Ana Luina Estrada
Carrie A. Grounds

I'm interested in stuff like (1) bedside manner - do they seem very patient with questions; (2) difficult to get in or very long waiting room wait periods? (3) do they seem to keep up on the latest medical information? (4) if they aren't available, do you like the other doctors in their office?

Thanks so much. I need this information fast, and I don't know who I'd turn to if not for Mamasource!

So What Happened?

Thanks so much, everyone. I ended up seeing Dr. Grounds today, and I asked her if she had ever heard about Mamasource. She hadn't! Anyway, although I didn't get a HUGE number of answers to this request, the fact that a few people knew and trusted her had to DO, because I need to get in to see a doctor. She was great. Took the time, answered the questions, set me up for a test I needed, and seemed very knowledgable. THANK YOU EVERYONE!

I actually go to Dr. Janetta Proverbs and her partner Dr. Carrie Grounds. I absolutely love them. They each have kids of their own. In fact, Dr. Carrie Grounds may be on maternity leave now. Dr. Janetta Proverbs and Dr. Carrie Grounds are with Womens Clinic of Johnson County. All their doctors and nurses are women.

I also have a friend that went to Dr. Bavishi. She said she really liked her a lot.

Hope that helps!

I go to the women's clinic of Johnson County and I have seen Dr. Grounds, and I liked her a lot. I had both of my daughters with that clinic and I have been very happy with pretty much all the Dr.'s at that clinic. My dr. is Dr. Lofton, but she is pretty hard to get into.

Sometimes the waits are long, but Make your appointment first thing and it works out best.

I highly recommend this clinic, Nurses are very nice, and they are very patient, I don't feel like I am rushed thru when I ma there.

good luck!

K.

I don't know anything about the ones on your list, but I go to Dr. Cooper, at Johnson County Ob/Gyn, off 75th and I-35. all the doctors and staff there are really nice, patient, and very knowledgable. I was never uncomfortable with anyone.

Dr. Estrada delivered my oldest and she was great. She was fresh out of residency so she did seem a little nervous but was an amazing ob. I saw Dr. Snider (they are associates) for my second and he was fabulous - I never liked male doctors until I met him. I saw Dr. Estrada once with my second pregnancy and she was much more laid back than 6 years earlier. I think Dr. Snider rubbed off on her :) Both of these OB/GYN's are great!
