Seeking OB GYN for Prenatal Care Who Can Deliver at Olathe Medical Center

My first child was born at OPRMC by cesarian. My midwife was from the Women's Healthcare Group on campus, but a dr. performed the surgery. As a resident in Olathe, my husband and I are wanting to deliver our second child there. Also, my midwife has moved to Colorado. Can anyone recommend to me a good physician/midwife for prenatal care who can deliver at Olathe Medical Center? I prefer females!?!? :)

I currently have an appointment setup for next Monday with Dr. Estrada here in Olathe. However while doing some research today I found a lawsuit that was filed against her and her practice as well as Olathe Med and they all were found negligent. I'm worried...or is it just the hormones? :)

TIA for your help!

Unfortunately there are not any midwives that deliver at Olathe Med. There are 5 OBGYNs and a handful of family doctors.

Hey C.,
I have heard wonderful things about Dr. Estrada from some of my good friends but I have never seen her myself. I used to work for a practice called Womens Clinic of Johnson County and it is a group of all female Doctors. I worked as a medical assistant and I was placed with Dr. Proverbs. She was wonderful with all her patients and there are others in the practice that were great as well. And they have a clinic there at Olathe Medical. There is also a group called Womens Care which is where I went for my pregnancy and seen the Midwives who were all wonderful. I really liked Jeanne Schroeder who ended up delivering me. But I don't think they deliver at Olathe. If you would like more info you can email me at ____@____.com
Good luck

I had my 2nd child at Olathe Medical and it was fine. My OB was Dr. Snider, Estrada's partner. I felt very comfortable with the services I received and have continued my care with him. I also have a friend who used Snider and had a C-section, her 2nd, and loved him. Hope this helps.

I am sorry that I can't help you find a female Dr. Mine is a male, but I can suggest that you find another Dr. My husband's friend and his wife were the couple that filed the lawsuit against Dr. Estrada. So it isn't just the hormones. My Dr. had her practice in listed as one of the Dr.s to deliver if ours weren't on call and we had to worked to were she wouldn't deliver our daughter if it came to that. Follow your instincts.

I'm going to sound like a broken record here in a minute:)
Brendan Mitchell with Women's Care has a practice in Olathe also. He also has midwives in his practice (Judy Wica is great).

Mitchell delivered my 4 year old. We chose not to have him catch the new baby, but only because we opted to have a home birth...and he chose not to attend. We would see him for any future HIGHLY accidental unintended unplanned but loved nonetheless pregnancies:)

I delivered my daughter with Dr Estrada 7 months ago and was very happy with the care she gave me before and after delivery. She was really good to answer all my questions and to honor my request not to get an episiotomy during delivery. Good luck in your search!
