my kids love wings, but not hot ones I make them barbacue for them, but we like buffalo style :0 -we usually get them at Applebees,Chilis, and love Timbers here in Nevada-so my question is what kind of hot buffalo sauces are similar to those places and how do you make them similar? Thanks in advance. L.

What can I do next?

According to my husband, the in house chef, you control the heat by cutting in more butter and he adds cream. It is a function of making the base and then adding until you have a flavor you like. If you are like him you take notes. It is pretty funny to watch because he writes down, quarter teaspoon over and over as apposed to scratching out the number and increasing it that way.

Frank's Red Hot is, in my opinion, the closest to traditional buffalo style.

Very good but definitely a sometimes food.
We have Buffalo Wild Wings near us and it's easy to pick up a bucket of them a few times a year.
I've never cared for wings that were spicy enough to peel the skin from the roof of your mouth (and I grew up in a Buffalo NY suburb).
Best wings EVER were made by a little place in my home town - Antonio's Pizza (they retired and closed years ago).
Buffalo Wild Wings Mild and Medium come as close to that good old flavor as I could ever find (I haven't yet found a way to make them with the right flavor at home.)
I don't like their blue cheese sauce though - it's not quite right for me so I make my own.
I use Marie's Super Blue salad dressing, thin it slightly with a little buttermilk and add just a sprinkle of dried oregano - which makes it just perfect.
Don't forget the celery sticks!

I make my spicy wings with Franks redhot sauce, butter, and a packet of italian seasoning. My kids love ranch wings (Hidden Valley Ranch seasoning sprinkled on top) and Garlic wings (ConYeager Garlic and Butter wing dust)

If some of the Buffalo sauces are too spicy, go to Sam's or Costco and watch for wings when they go on sale. There are some that are not spicy at all. AND they are much less expensive than any restaurant or any grocery store's deli wings.

I happen to like spicy so I cannot tell you which ones are the least spicy.

Good luck to you and yours.

We do a mixture of hot sauce, butter, garlic salt and parmesan cheese(like the grated one that you sprinkle on top of pizza) and then melt it all together. It's so good!

SO unhealthy, I never make them like that. And I discourage my kid from ordering them out.

1/2 hot sauce, 1/2 butter is pretty "standard" for buffalo, though.

I don't know how those places taste so I can't offer much help there. We use Frank's Red Hot, not the wing sauce but the original. We don't use butter and grill ours since we prefer that. You can make them healthier without much effort if it's a concern. Our kids don't like them spicy either but by grilling them it's easy to make them BBQ, Hawaiian, etc. Good luck and happy cooking.

My husband is a wing expert. Our family loves bbq, HOT, spicy and a mix between hot and bbq. 1/2 C. Frank's Red Hot, and 1/4 C melted butter for a spicy and yummy sauce... This is THE BEST sauce EVER... seriously.... everyone loves this... coat them or dip them, it's "da bomb"... :)
