Can I Keep the Ipad from Breaking Further?

So, I've already made the mistake of not being as vigilant as I should have been when playing with the IPad. It was bad enough that they cracked the screen, but now little chunks have fallen out around the boarder.

It still works, and I will be very, very vigilant in the future. Is there anything I can do to protect it now? It has a case, though nothing as strong as an Otterbox. Maybe I should get an Otterbox?

What can I do next?

ipads are too expensive to put at risk by allowing it to disintegrate. i'd have that puppy in best buy this morning and have them put an otterbox or something comparable on it.

unless just getting a new one is no big deal, why NOT protect this one?

Ouch!!! I would not allow anyone to
Play on it with a broken/cracked screen because of the slivers that can cut fingers!!

We have a cell phone repair place close by and they can put a new screen on within an hour. We've used them several times to replace IPhone screens and I used them to replace my IPad screen,

It was around $150 and much better than cut fingers!!

I would spend the money to have it fixed and get an Otterbox to protect it in the future. I would not use it while the glass is broken with pieces coming out.

Our screen cracked and we put one of those protectors over it. It was a more expensive one, probably $30, can't remember the name of the brand, but it is black and yellow labeling. Best Buy will put it on for you, I highly recommend that! They are tricky to put on, especially when it's broken. We've had that on for about a year and it hasn't gotten worse. Our iPad is pretty old, so we probably won't repair it, we'll just wait it out until we want to spring for a new one.

I paid 115 to get a new screen. I still have rough corners, but I recommend repairing it

My iPhone screen cracked about 2 years ago.

Found a place on Groupon to fix it for $30.

I would start asking around because a lot of places fix them now.

Good luck

My girls have ipods with cracked screens. I do not have a place near me to get it fixed so they have to wait. The screen does start to chip off. A woman I know bought one of those screen proctectors when her screen cracked to prevent anything like this from happening. It lasted until she was able to get it fixed. Not sure if that would work, maybe depending on how much has started to chip off.

Find out if there is a cell phone repair place around. You might be able to just get the screen replaced. Since there is so much glass exposed an otter box won't really help prevent damages to the screen.

We bought a cover on Ebay for $3.95 that is stiff and when you close it the Ipad automatically goes off to save battery. It is the best protection available for an Ipad because the stiff/leather cover keeps minor drops and bumps from hurting the screen or internal parts.

Do you have a Foxpaw by you? They are located at some Schnucks stores here and I think those stores are in Springfield as well. My point, 110 dollars and they will replace the screen. I did that for my daughter when hers started losing chunks because it is dangerous for fingers. Oh they have it back to you in a couple hours.

If the screen is cracked and missing chips, it is not safe to use until you've had the screen replaced. After that, an otterbox is a good option.
