We are spending a few days in that area so I'm thinking of taking my kid to Legoland, Sea Life Aquarium and Polar Ice Rink. Will it be worth it? Is there anything else around that area we can look into or do we have to venture to Dallas for more family friendly options? I know I can look online...just wanted to get some reviews from any mamas out there.

My son is 6 and we like doing anything and everything.

tia!

What can I do next?

ICE at the Gaylord Texas would be perfect at his age. It is super cold but fun.

Bass Pro!! Love that place! We recently spent about 4 hours there and then ate at their restaurant. We also went to the Gaylord 2 years ago to see the ice exhibit. It was really cool, but also freezing cold, so bundle up!

There's a vintage railroad that goes to the Stockyards in Fort Worth. I've never done it but I think Fort Worth is worth a visit.

Don't forget Main Street. There is a Santa on stilts playing Reindeer games (limbo, relays, hoola hoops) with the kids. Pleanty of picture opportunities. Hot chocolate, crafts, etc. It's all free. The rest of the stuff you mentioned is very expensive, so, it will be great to give the wallet a rest!
They are playing Christmas Movies in the vintage theatre on Main. Drive up and down main at night to see the lights.
The train depot is at the end of the street and they have a winter wonderland, Polar Express type thing going on down there. You can ride the train- but skip it. It's slow, expensive, and boring for a 6 yr old. 3 or 4 yr olds love it.
There is a Christmas Light display at the Gaylord Texan. It's free, but $10 or $15 to park.
You'll be right in the middle of a jackload of traffic and construction. They have the whole area torn to pieces with detours. So, if you have a gps, update it before you go. Don't plan on being on the road during peak traffic times. That being said, you are just an exit or 2 away from Dallas and only 15 minutes away from 6 Flags. They have holiday in the park going on. So, if you have a good gps, or a local to drive you around, you are close to a whole lot of fun stuff. You really aren't even far from Fort Worth amd I highly highly reccomend the Stock Yards. It's the absolute coolest and so worth the 20 minute drive.

You have some great suggestions. I would add a shopping trip to Grapevine MIlls. Kiddos would enjoy the Rain Forest Cafe. And there is a carousel.

The aquarium in downtown Dallas is awesome. You feel like you're
in a rain forest. The shark tank is very interesting. You can walk through
the glass tunnel under them and watch them feed on interesting
sea creatures. I took a 2 and 4 year old and it was too cool. I didn't
notice it being accommodating to handicapped or elderly. Lots of different
levels and lots of steps.
