I am seeking some fun places both indoors and outdoors to take my 22 month old little girl. We are already members at Gymboree and i take her to the Fort Worth Zoo as well as the Dallas Zoo. i am seeking musuems for kids or play centers close to DFW. I live in Keller/Southlake area so any ideas close to my home would be much appriciated.

Also any parks that are toddler friendly equipment and that are closed in so i dont have to worry about her running off.

Thanks to all.

Going Bonkers in Lewisville is a great place to take kids. It is an indoor play facility. They also have an arcade upstairs and a "parents room" with wi-fi. Its pretty cheap, too - $2.50 for kids 1-3yrs and $5 for kids 4 & up and $1 per adult. They even have a separate section for toddlers. I take my two year old there all the time he loves it.

The botanic gardens in Ft. Worth is spacious, beautiful and free. I take my girls picnicing and playing out there often. The Japanese garden out there costs (I think)$3 (your little one is free. It is amazingly beatiful and you can feed the fish for 25 cents. Very fun.

The park across the street from the gardens on the Trinity river is awesome too. The have a great playground, lots of open green space and a fun little train ride too.

I also like to take my kids to the Grounds outside the Ft. Worth Art Museums. There are wonderful fountains around the Amon Carter Museum and the Modern has this great iron sculpture outside that you can go inside and it makes the best echos. My 5 year old and 21 month old played in there for at least an hour. Sometimes, when I'm lucky, the kids are calm enough for me to check out an exhibit or two.

The Dallas World Aquarium and the Dallas Arboretum are two of our favorite places in the area to take the kids. Also, Heritage park in Grapevine is very nice. It has a small botanical garden area where you can feed fish as well as a playground. Another place that my almost 4 year old DD loves to go is the Gaylord in Grapevine. She loves the fountains and all of the plants and flowers. They have an ice cream shop and a treat shop that has cookies and other sweets. It's a fun place to walk around. She also gets really excited when there are brides there (they have lots of weddings). She thinks they are princesses.

The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History is lots of fun. They have a room downstairs for little kids with a pretend grocery store, water tables, etc. They also have a dino dig outside that my kids have always loved as well as lots of other exhibits.
