Hi R.!

I have not heard of Alli before, but it truly comes down to eating right, drinking at least 62oz of water a day, and also really making sure your getting the proper exercise that your body needs! Good luck with everything, and if nothing else....make sure you drink plenty of water!! Love, A.

I used Alli for a couple of months, i lost about 12 pounds. I'm a Pharamcy Technician so i've had a little more access to information. It does block 25% of fat intake which is the good thing, but if you eat too much fat you will have an orange oily discharge that passes when you think you actually have gas. if you eat less than 15 grams of fat per meal then you don't need to take an Alli.

Hello R.-

I have been curious about Alli myself lately and did a little search on the net. Here is an interesting website that covers many diet pills. The Alli review is actually entertaining "anal leakage"- need I say more.

i have spoken to several people about it and i have ben told that it is aweful it basically allows you body to intake a small amount of fat or calories and it pushes everything else out of your body in a hurry if you catch my drift. if you do try it make sure you are close to a bathroom it takes total commitment, and if you are willing to devote that level of commitment you should be able to just change your diet and exercise habits. Also keep in mind that if you consume less than 1700 calories in a day your body begins to eat muscle and bone which can lead to osteoperosis down the road, my suggestion would be to consult a doctor or a nutrisionist or even join a gym and consult a personal trainor. also remember that when you diet it has to be a lifestyle change otherwise you will just gain the weight back. I work in a fitness club and being someone who is trying to loose weight myself i have been told that loosing much more than 2 lbs a week can be dangerous. just , make sure you research all of your options thoroughly before you jump in. I made that mistake a couple of weeks ago with the Usana reset program and ended up very sick.

I'm in my third week of taking Alli on and off and over all I would recommend it. I'm having a terrible time losing weight because I eat very healthily, but just too much, I suppose, and I definitely eat too many home- or bakery-made yummies. That aside, I am very impressed with the on-line support that comes with the Alli program. They give you full meal plans after analyzing your dietary needs, and shopping lists. You check in with your weight once a week and you're provided with an immediate analysis of your week, worded very positively and encouragingly. There are discussion boards on diet, the medical side of the pill (monitored by RNs who are obviously trained in all things Alli), and exercise, as well as some general chat rooms.

One of Alli's attractions is the "aversion therapy" aspect of the pill. Evidently, many people can experience urgency and even soiling their pants as a side effect. The Alli people call these side effects "treatment effects". Personally, I have experienced only the opposite: bloating, constipation and too small stools. That really freaked me out the first week and I immediately stopped taking it and asked the RNs about it. I received a very prompt explanation via email. I was thankful I didn't have to check in to the Alli web site to get the response. It turns out I wasn't eating enough fat to warrant taking Alli! So now I only take Alli when I'm eating a medium to high fat meal and I feel pretty good about it.

The last thing I'd like to say I like about Alli is that you can take the pill anywhere from one hour before your meal, during your meal, to as late as one hour after your meal. If I had to take it before every meal, I'd never take it.

If I were a high fat eater, this pill would be a Godsend. AS it is now, I'm losing weight excrutiatingly slowly, but before I started taking it, I kept gaining, just a tiny bit, weekly. Now, I'm down two pounds in 2 1/2 weeks and I'm still eating pretty much the same. I'm just happy I have reversed the trend. It also may be significant that I am not super overweight. My BMI is 24. something. It is recommended for much higher BMIs than mine.

Good luck,
A. B
