I am hosting a children's consignment sale next month in Belvidere. I am running out of ideas for advertising. I have a lower end budget. Can anyone give me some good pointers on the best way to get the word out?

What can I do next?

Offer a sale or a promo gift too to motivate customers to visit. Everyone loves something FREE.

Put flyers on cars outside of Baby R Us store or Chuck E Cheese too. Try to target your customer

I often see postcards on the counter at the preschool when our local consignment shop is having a children's clothing sale.

Have you tried posting informational flyers at ob and ped offices? Library and community bulletin boards? Preschools and daycares?

Do you have an email list of consignors/shoppers? If so, email the flyer to them so they can email it to others.

Contact local PTA's to see if they will announce it at their next meeting.

Contact your local news stations. With people looking for ways to save money, they may be very interested in doing a piece on your event.

Good luck!

You could do flyers and take them to parking lots- put them on windsheilds.
Many stores have bulletin boards that will let you post things. Most companies have bulletin boards on their cafeterias- ask some of your family and freinds to post a flyer for you at their work.

Check with your local school and see if you can post a flyer on the bulletin board, or ask the PTA for some support. Also check with daycares and preschools in your area. Most grocery stores have bulletin boards, post a flyer there. Send an e-mail to all your friends and ask them to forward it. Put an ad in your local paper under yardsales. Put up a large sign in your front yard so neighbors and passerbys will see it.

Good luck.

make 8.5" by 11" copies of an "ad" you can make on your computer... print out as many copies as you can afford. Go to schools/preschools and see if they will put it up on their announcements bulletin boards, or even at colleges, coffee shops, the library, any public place that kids/families/parents frequent.

Good luck,
Susan
